Fandyfire HD-2011, one great little light!

I love this this little pocket rocket. It is about the same size as the Ultrafire UF-2100 but is a nice grey color and has 5 modes with no memory. Very floody and very bright. Makes a perfect bike light and the strobe is actually useful in this role.

I don’t hear much about it but it is my favorite 18650 light. I got mine from DX on special for about $13.00 and really like it. Wish it had a clip but other than that, it is nearly perfect for my needs. Kind of an unsung light that deserves some love since it is such a winner.

Yeah I got the ultrafire HD2011 version in grey which I’m sure is the same just rebranded. It does provide the perfect up close flood beam for cycling, add a shadow JM07 and it’s cycling heaven  . Iy’s such a cool well made little pocket rocket.

My only gripe is it does get a little hot, probably not helped by the warmer temperatures of Vietnam, so I’m looking for a light that provides a similar beam pattern with better heatsinking. I’m considering getting the trustfire A8 or the Shadow VG10, but I don’t think either would provide as good a beam, and the A8 doesn’t have an OP reflector. Still, collecting flashlights is fun

Mine gets hot on high but I was under the impression that was because it did have good heat sinking. If the body doesn’t get hot, either it is underdriven or has bad heat sinking. Correct me if I am upside down on this but that is how I understand it.

It would be interesting if someone could do a comparison between the HD2011, HD2100 and V6-T60...

I sold mine and sort of wish i still had it . the only weakness i found with it was the driver ...seemed a bit skippy /odd/ unpredictable ...

I don’t have the V6-T60 but I have the Fandyfire HD2011 which is prob the same as the UF HD2011. I have the Ultrafire UF-2100 which is a 3 mode (high, low, strobe). It is basically the same as the Fandyfire 2100 and Uniquefire 2100.

The main difference between the Fandyfire HD2011 and the Ultrafire UF-2100 is the beam. They are both about the same lumins, similar runtimes, same size, same weight, both reverse clicky, 18650, XM-L, same price give or take a $1-2 either way depending on who is selling it.

The Fandyfire has a nice even floody beam. It is so powerful that it will still throw light plenty far but it lights up a path or a road which makes it a great bike light or light for walking the dogs at night. Would make a good headlamp if you could stand a 18650 sized light strapped to your head.

The Ultrafire 2100 has a floody beam as well due to the XM-L emitter and shallow reflector but it has a hotspot which gives it more throw at the cost of a less even flood beam. For a do it all light, that beam is prob better but I have enough lights to pick and choose a certain light for a certain task. For my bike, the Fandyfire wins hands down.

I think The more obvious differences is in the construction ,It has no stupid flat spots or sharp edges . Ifeels 100 times better in your hand or pocket .

beam was smoother I agree

pwm?? I can't remember but that imho is a very important factor as well .

Pwm on the 2100's are bad .

i hate bad pwm.

Makes sense, I’m pretty green when it comes to flashlights so I’d say you’re right and I can feel a little more comfortable with it getting hot. And I can’t agree more on the beam. I’ve compared it to my Titan P7 dedicated bike light, an ultrafire 502b, Shadow JM07and the POPPAS 878 flood to throw, and for a floody up close beam it comes up trumps every time.

I clearly don’t like it as it is - it’s direct drive and may pull way over 4A (I got 4.7A!) depending on the batteries.
I swapped the driver right after I tested it.

Other than that it’s indeed a nice light: no pill, good heat transfer, fast PWM (6kHz, not easily noticeable). Mine had memory btw.

The bezel wall is relatively thin and bents a bit when dropped.
