Ebay flashlight

Hi guys I got this flashlight from Ebay

I know this is one of those cheapy LED lights, but it worked good for me for that price. Anyway I’m just curious, the battery diameter of the 18650 is smaller so the flashlight comes with a plastic sleeve. Is there other Li-ion or Li-Po battery with a larger diameter = larger capacity that I can use with this flashlight?

My friends 26650 is too big, is there something in between?

BTW the flashlight only goes for 20 minutes at HI setting. I would like if it can go an hour or two.

Kaidomain sells 22600 batteries but they have less capacity at 2500 mah then a good 18650.

thats a nice size, looks like it very closely matches 3AAA. Has anyone tried one of these? The red ultrafire scams run rampant in the 18650 size, are these legit (or even remotely close to) 2500mah?

One question why not just buy some decent 18650s and use a pvc spacer?

Welcome to BLF, bunker buster. As you've already discovered, this light was designed for a 3 x AAA, so the sleeve takes up the slack for the smaller diameter 18650 and no, a 26650 won't work. Your poor run time is no doubt due to very cheap batteries included with the light. Pick up 1 or 2 good 2400 or 2600 mAh cells and you should see much better run time. Suggest Xtar, Hi-Max or Solarforce to name a few or Trustfire from Manafont or CN Quality Goods.

Right, do that and welcome to BLF.

Actually I was looking at the Panasonic 18650@3000mah li-ion. Still on ebay going for $10. Is panasonic battery good?

What I like about this flashlight is the zoomable focus. I can make it a spotlight by just sliding the head forward. The beam is a square shape concentrated light w/c is nice for long distance illumination. Its as bright as my large lead acid spotlight I bought at radio shack w/o the weight.

Is this right? The charger that comes with it can only charge the battery up to 4.03V I know that a full charge Li-po is 4.2V so any recommendation for the charger? BTW the charger is also automatic it goes green when it reach “full” state

Thanks for the welcome

Welcome to the monkey house, bunker buster!

Depends on what you want to spend for better cells and a charger. Panasonics are generally great, but not for lights like that. Such lights are better with betteres that keep a higher voltage (like the above mentioned XTAR, HiMax, Solarforce..)

I suggest an XTAR WP2 charger and some decent batteries. You'll buy more flashlights now anyway. :P

+1 for the Xtar chargers.
I have both the MP1 and the WP2 II , both are excellent.

HKJ did a excellent review of the Panasonic NCR18650A

Think these are theirs as well http://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-NCR18650A-NCR18650-18650-3100-3-7v-PCB-Protected-Battery-x2-/370627427042?pt=US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item564b1dbae2

There’s a lot of great reviews here on various 18650 batteries.

Because for many 3AAA lights the 18650 length is too long, (not the OPs light though).

I pretty much avoid 3AAA lights, even though I have 12 AAA eneloops, for me its just not a practical format.

If a 22600 cell will drop right into most 3AAA lights that would make a lot of B/M available lights very attractive to me. The costco 3-pack for $14 for example.

Love it! Gonna save those pics! (w/your kind permission)

@Nightcrawl and Sard

ok. Will look up those batteries you recommend. Thanks!

How many amps does my flashlight draw on high?

It probably draws around 3 amps.
