Which AA Charger

No response @ CPF so I will try here ...

Which AA charger ? [ I finally found a seller not postage gouging ]

Powerex MH-C9000 MAHA

or

LaCrosse BC-9009 or BC-700 or BC-500

Now there is also a BC1HU Vanson ?

Thank you ...

I have a C9000 and like it. If you want to save some money and get free batteries then a LaCrosse. The C9000 is more than twice as large if space is an issue. You have to fiddle with the C9000 a little more too. Any of them will charge a battery at the current you want (I think the 700 doesn't have as high a current setting as the 9009) and charge them individually and measure discharge capacity. The C9000's break-in charge is overrated I think, but it could be good to have and is also the industry standard way of determining battery capacity. The 9009 has a neat feature where you stick a battery in it and it will charge and discharge until the battery doesn't see any additional increase in capacity. Of course everyone at CPF swears by the C9000, so I'm surprised you didn't get a lot of people chiming in for it. Also there were some cases where the 900 (or 9009, I'm not sure if there is a difference) melted, but I haven't heard anything else about that in a while.

Thank you , I thought it was the Lacrosse that melted ...

So I got the Powerex MH-C9000 ....

I have now the second BC-700. Using them mainly for Eneloops - totally satisfied.

First one died, but there is a slight possibility that it was caused by me plugging it to 24V power supply by mistake
