New 7x XM-L light at Manafont...

Hey all!

I found this new Uniquefire 7x XM-L on the Manafont 'New Products' list this morning:

http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/uniquefire-ufs7-cree-xml-u2-7led-5mode-flashlight-black-aluminum-alloy-finish-2318650-p-9990

Noticing a couple of things here...

  1. Looks like the TR-J18, but measurements show 70mm vs. the 63mm of the J18Cool
  2. Listed as being 7x U2 emitters vs. the T6 emitters of the J18Cool
  3. No holster included like the J18 Frown
  4. $5 cheaper than the J18Cool

Any thoughts on this? I have a lot of Manafont points saved up, and have been planning on getting either the J12, J16, or J18 with my points, but this Uniquefire looks promising. I already have plenty of throwers and want a serious flood-monster, and this looks like it might do nicely. Due to the cost, I would be using this with good 18650 cells for the time being, but will like having option to upgrade to 26650s in the future. I like the larger head size (unless this is a measurement error) and the upgrade to (stated) U2 emitters is nice extra as well...

It sounds like the XM LEDs won’t really be suitable for flashlight use. Pity…

Good eye... I guess I just missed this one the first time around. I've been watching the multi-emitter lights at Manafont for a while and didn't recall seeing this one. Maybe it was out of stock for a while so they pulled it from the listings? I would like to see a real review on this light here if anyone has one...
