SM5200 55W w 7" reflectored HID for usd87 shipped to USA via DHL!

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Cheap-shipping-12V-55W-hid-porta…

Pls double confirm with seller (1) 55W and (2) 4300k. Also do remember to ask the seller to screw open the bezel and stuff some newspaper behind the reflector, as the slim type ballast has the tendency to break the plastic mount during shipment and hence knock against the reflector hence slightly damaging it.

The 4300k bulb is the brightest, but you can opt for 5000k. The seller sells all stuff.

The 100W HID black finned ballast can fit, search for it here and CPF I have some photos.

Over to Asian countries, it’s just usd77 via DHL and usd67 via China Post. I think he made a mistake as China Post does not accept packages > 3kg or so.

Do a search here, CPF and google “SM5200”, i have quite some info. It uses a 12V 5.5AH SLA, so very cheap to replace.

Sanmak SM5200, 100W Mod, 6” reflector, 6000K bulb, ~1.25 million cps. (by 2100/12.5M/Dx meter)
Sanmak SM5200, 100W Mod, 6” reflector, 3400K bulb, ~1.35 million cps. (by 2100/12.5M/Dx meter)

I measured 6.25” of clean aperture at the front. The reflector is a little larger.

55W is about 700kcd if i remember correctly.

If you have problems with this light, feel free to ask. Eg for my first copy they forgot to put the screw of the metal battery terminals to hold the metal to the body. So its loose and does not make contact with the removable battery pack. I just super glued it back. It’s a simple system, everything is fixable and usable for many years, replaceable. Even if the charging circuit fails you could even hardwire it directly (coz the battery pack is removable). No way it would spoil and render the whole thing useless, like the driver of a LED and you have trouble finding replacement.

Once i had issue with another seller sending me a 35W version instead of 55W,but no biggie since the 100W/75W are going in. (you could ask for say a $15 partial refund via ESCROW)
The bezel cracked, but just use some super glue.

Newspapers behind the reflector are a must for protection during shipping. The other seller sent a replacement reflector via DPEX, but i think for this Jiaxun auto parts seller they would not have replacements. But not a big issue, HIDs do not have nice hotspots/spill in the first place.

Ultrafire UF-980L XM-L

SM5200 (75W, but you get the idea on the beam pattern)

Your post is WATCHED and BOOKMARKED! Thank you!

I ... must ... resist .. :~

Costs more to the UK annoying :~

To MY it should be quite cheap. Can try using the HK Post, it might not work (weight) out but you can top up a bit later. Not sure, it might work out for 67 bucks!

BTW, if you guys google MULE 80W or Yao 80W, it is the same host, just that for that version costing $500 or so, its with lipo batteries and dual power. Actually you can find dual power ballasts on aliexpress/ebay, but seriously it’s not really needed in real life.

Done by Stollman of CPF.

Never knew the aliexpress/ebay ones had so much power.

If left indoors with still air, and you leave it on for ~5 minutes, the top gets super hot. I remember because i touched the glass after turning mine off and nearly melted my finger off. Well that’s what it felt like.

Is HongKong Post air parcel better than China Post air parcel?

Yeah i know….i did a few full blown runs to test the batteries/run time test, my few 65 watters did avg of 80-90 mins, that’s with the 6600mAh pack. Not sure how much the 8800mAh packs can do (could be the same, could be more). Its like the 2400mAh TF cells and the 3000mAh, some are good while others are average and not much more than the 2400s.

Generally faster for our countries. HK sellers could use 4PX which is a Shenzhen coy joint venture with Singapore Post i think……i always get RFxxxxxxxSG, which is Singapre post registered article. Eg, it took only 6 working days for O-like’s products to reach me place. XTAR and HKE could be 5 working days, sometimes more.

67 bucks, not too expensive to make a gamble bah….you’ll still get an ok light even if its battered up.

BTW, it just hit me, that the adapter is 220V. LOL! Not sure for the folks in 110V areas if you have a special socket for 240V or so.

If not just get those variable voltage power adapters, the head is universal, or you could splice the original one up and attach. Very simple and not expensive. The adapter is 300mA only i think, takes ages to charge (something like 15 hours LOL!)

I just placed an order…I’ll ask him about the 220v…I have an adapter but i would
side on caution here, is an adapter appropriate considering?

Do you see any issue’s changing the power source to Li-Polymer assuming the requirements / specs are satisfied?

Its easier for me as i have a bunch on hand and chargers. Most have a deans connection and 8” silicone wiring

2100 - i asked again about the 100W and he said he will check again and let me know. Guess i’ll stick with
the 4300K tint for now now when is this darn package getting here!

Order the 100W later as a seperate purchase, enjoy the 55W for now. There is no hurry, plenty of dealers selling 100W kits. It’s budgetlightforum here, so i reckon just below 90 bucks shipped should be good for you guys.

I am glad that the 220V power adapter “problem” does not affect you as you have enough adapters. Seriously i charge the detachable battery pack seperately on my hobby charger coz the one which came with the light is just 300mA, takes like 15hrs to charge.

Don’t change to Lipo, anyway its a 5.5AH 12V SLA, the dimensions don’t bode well for Lipo hobby packs (too long LOL!). I think the 5.5AH is max 110mm or something only.
But i am sure you know more than me since you are in the R/C hobby?

DHL is fast. Did the payment clear? (it takes a couple of hours, and its Sunday now)
