What happened to Seoul Semiconductors??

Does anybody know? I realize they purchase dies from Cree, but they were competitive in the past. I personally liked the p7 at least as much as the mc-e. I’m surprised there is no SSC version of the xm-l. Will there be? I haven’t heard of anything new by them in quite some time.

I think they're still in business. I hope they make something with 4 xm-ls under one dome. That would be aweseome.

with four xm-l’s. i’m sure there are plenty of reasons it would be tough to make that work, heat is always one of them, and i wonder what the donut hole would be like, but, yeah that would be the s$#@!

Both 6volt and 12 volt quad die XML, it’s the voltage that makes them less useful.
IlluminationSupply was going to carry them but there wasn’t enough interest.

I’d love to see a better P7

The 4 die XM-L you are talking about has 4 EZ1000 chips and is an EasyWhite product, I am assuming what they want is a component with 4x EZ2000s, the 2mmx2mm in the single die XM-L.

Exactly. :)

They lost the efficiency battle (lumens / watt) thats for sure, where Cree is king. So general lighting industries that focus on getting the most lumens from the least power are not going to consider them. Luxeon is in the same boat.

used the way we like to use them, isn’t it pretty likely that may spell doom for those companies?

I thought the 4 ez1000 was how the MCE is made
