Elektro Lumens ST90 Search & Rescue, 2200 lumens, 150,000 lux

This is Wayne Johnson of Elektro Lumens. Been making flashlights for quite a few years now (started modifying flashlights in 2001). Some may know me from Candlepower Forums. I have had a sub forum there for years, but recently decided to end that. Anyway, thought I’d chime in here with a plug for one of my flashlights, the ST90 Search & Rescue Extreme.

Here’s a link to the web page I created for this flashlight: Elektro Lumens Presents "ST90 Search and Rescue Extreme Flashlight"

Not really much on the market like it. I created my ST90 Search & Rescue Extreme flashlight, to compete with the Olight SR90. As with all my flashlights, they are simple. The ST90 has two reverse style clicky switches, one for low, one for high. The beam can be focused from spot to flood. Run time is around 1.5 hours on high. It uses four 18650 batteries in parallel, and these drive the LED direct drive ‘pedal to the metal’ at approximately 9 amps. Each battery is not working very hard, only around 2.25A each. Price is $259.99 for the flashlight itself, or $314.40 for the ST90 Combo, which includes four Tenergy 18650 batteries and a Tenergy charger. I am doing the combo as a convenience.

My contact information is listed on my web site, http://www.elektrolumens.com/ including both my email address and my phone number. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. You can call me up and speak to me personally if you like, text me, or email me. I try to keep available as much as possible.

As with all my products I sell, I offer a 1 year parts and labor warranty, and after 1 year I only charge for parts. I also offer a satisfaction guarantee, you can return the product for a refund of the cost, if you’re not satisfied with your purchase.

This is my first post here, hope I’m following proper protocol for this forum.

I do have beam shots posted on the web page for this flashlight. I also have a YouTube channel with some various videos and slide shows on various flashlights including the ST90.

Hello, and Welcome!

WOW

Do you make any more budget friendly lights? I really like that EDC!!

I do not really try to compete on the low end price wise. I hope that I do offer a value for the dollar in terms of quality. Also, I try to be on the upper end of the brightness scale, typically. I guess ‘budget’ is relative to income. I figure I can start a single thread for a single product to keep things simple.

Welcome Wayne
It’s more relaxed here.

Amazing looking flashlights. I’ve had my eye on the Big Bruiser for a while. I hope to buy one someday

Welcome, absolutely great to have you here!!

Welcome Wayne, nice to see you here.

For some reason Wayne, whenever I see your lights I think “Ah Micropuck” !! You are the Micropuick king as far as I’m concerned, you started me off using those little drivers years ago.

With all these new low Vf super output LEDs it must be time for a new Elektro Lumens Micropuck driven light?

I still use the micropuck in the Anglelux, which I still sell from my web site shopping cart. It is not listed on my main web page. I use the SHO 500mAh Micropuck. 24 hours to 50% of original brightness, and I never have patience to test over 72 hours run time from 2 D alkaline batteries. I do want to bring back the 2D Blaster, or, make something similar, and possibly use the Micropuck, but there are also a lot of good choices for regulation. If there is interest in it I can start a thread just for the Anglelux. I’ve probably been selling this modded flashlight longer than most of the companies out there selling LED flashlights have existed.

Wayne

How is that one compared to Xtar S1? Looks like you got twice the lux with about the same lumens. Narrow beam?

Welcome Wayne!
You make some beautiful torches there… and considering what goes into making that S&R (I have a fairly good idea…), I think you asking price is a bargin.

I also see you’re a fan of the LEDiL Boom lenses

I have the MCE EDC and a triple Bruiser- these are lights that will last a life time. Built like tanks. They might not be the cheapest but they are for entry level into custom built quailty lights that will still be front runners in your collection in 5 years time.

The ST90 has a 4” diameter deep reflector. The beam angle is 5.5 degrees. Minimum lux reading at 1 meter is 130,000 lux, and often I read 150,000 lux. It is very narrow and you can see the beam cut through the dry air, and even more so in humid conditions.

But the beam is focusable in the event you do not need a narrow beam, and also it has a low power setting that will give you 8 or 9 hours on low power, in the event of emergencies. Without batteries the weight is around 4 pounds, to give you an idea of the mass of this flashlight.

Thrilled to have you here, I've followed your work for maybe 5 or 6 years, cant remember exactly when I first saw some of your posts on CPF. Always made me go "Wow" when I saw your work. Havent followed it so closely the last couple of years but recently got smitten by the lumens bug again so here I am :-)

And good point about what budget is - individual.

Anyhow - welcome and I hope you have some fun here. I know I do ;-)

Welcome to the BLF !

So how does it work with the two buttons ? Is it one or the other, or one then both ?

Forward switch is low power, perhaps 250 or 300 lumens, back switch is high power. I use the same two switch settup on Kong-12 and Kong-21.

Wayne,

I’m impressed with your work. I emailed you earlier about the shipping to MO. $12.50 sounds like a very good shipping price. I’m already wanting this flashlight. I was thinking about the TN31 maybe for Christmas, but this one ought to be even better. Let me see what I can do. I’m putting it on my wish list.

Brad

Pardon my manners. Welcome to BLF!

You won’t be disappointed.

Wayne

Thanks for the info.

Will anything “bad” happen if both are engaged ?

Hi, Wayne. Glad you could join us.
