What is the thinest 2AA penlight?

I love my Pelican 1920 but it takes 2 AAAs. It seems almost wide enough to take AAs so it got me thinking. Is there a AA penlight that is not much thicker than the 1920? AAs would provide the extra runtime or same runtime with more lumins.

I wonder why so many lights are wider than they really need to be.

I’ve had thin pens that bent when I leaned against something, a thin tube could do the same.

With a larger head or straight tube? I have a coast that takes 3Ns or 2 AAAs that is almost as large as an AA mini-mag. That sucker is stout!

It’s for pocket carry so it should have a straight tube or as close as possible. Basically I am looking for a AA version of my Pelican 1920 that could still be used the same but with maybe only a tiny increase in width. Length is not really an issue but width is because it would ride clipped to the front pocket like a knife. I carry my knife clipped on the right side and my penlight on my left. These are work edcs and I use them 20-40 times a day along with my Leatherman.

The 4sevens Preon 2 is pretty darn thin.

if you are going to buy this, contact me and i will give you best price shipped.

The Preon usually does well in reviews . . example.!

The EagleTac D25A2 is what I’d recommend.

Compare the dimensions to a Preon 2 and it’s truly amazing how small this sucker is:

Essentially, the ET is 0.05” longer, 0.14” wider in diameter, and is 0.19 oz. heavier. Pretty amazing IMHO.

best, kreishill $)

I was interested in the Eagletac but the UI and modes overwhelmed me. My needs are for a forward momentary clicky that is easy to use with gloves on. It gets pulled from the pocket to check things many times a day and most of the time I just need a quick peak at something. If I have to cycle through modes or fully depress the clicky, It is not worth the trouble of switching from a light that is working well already. One mode is great, two modes could be ok but only if it worked like a single mode until I needed a dimmer mode.

Looks great but I need a forward clicky or at least a reverse clicky. A twist light that requires two hands is worthless to me. If that light can me in just a simple single mode with forward clicky with the mode being 80-120 lumins, it would be perfect. With 2 AAs it would have a sufficient runtime putting out around 100 lumens for me to work all day without having to change batteries.

Yeah, but it has such a cool pocket clip.
