Trio of beamshots-SCORPION/UF2100/LXP18650

Hi there. My first (and not that good) attempt at this sort of thing. Btw, the UF2100 is the E1320 modded one. The LXP is the cool white version (Should’ve ordered the neutral instead). The Scorpion is the one with the regular head. All lights at max.

They were all aimed carefully at the same spot (halfway up a tree in the centre) and all lights were run for about 90 secs. before the pic was taken.
Hopefully, I’ll try to find a better location to do this. The distance to the tree was about 30 yards. I’d really like to find a better place to take the pics.
Something in the region of 100 yards clear space, with little or no light pollution. Not so easy where I live.

Awesome… thats a great location I think. You’ve got equal amounts of “stuff” on the right and left, with which to compare. Now just stand back at farther distances and let the beam hot spots flood out to compare throw. If you could down-size the images a bit so viewers can fit them on one page 2-3 at a time that would be great.

You might also want to lock the white balance so that way the tint differences show better.
Great work

Nice beamshots

I love me some beamshots!

Thanks for posting! The background is a good one for tint evaluation / color rendition (although I know your white balance may play into that).

I wish I could come up with a location to do longer distance beamshots. I'd probably have to drive somewhere and that means I'd have some explaining to do as to what I am doing! The bike trail nearby would be awesome due to it being old railroad grade with woods on both sides. Maybe someday when the wife is out of town! :)

Thanks, kramer5150 - I wish I could, but I couldn’t stand back any further. I walked around (the park near my home) for quite a bit but it was a hassle trying to find a dark place. Btw, the white balance was locked on “daylight” which means it didn’t vary from shot to shot, but was set for about 5600K. If I had used “auto” (white balance) the camera would’ve tried to correct for the different tints. Maybe next time I will set the WB on manual to 5500K instead and see  . My camera can do that.
