I wonder how much these will go for. I can’t decide between dedomed or normal. Maybe if I had a proper use for these lights then it’d be easier :frowning:

Dammit! Why do they use such small reflectors?

Pok - you've got som serious throwers - do you think this light is worth it? To me it seems they are too pricey because:

My (modded with a DX T6 on copper) TF X7 goes to a stable 80 kCd with the same size head.

Plus Skilhunt has made terrible PWM drivers in the past.

I'd think that a sbt-90 led would need at least 12,5 cm of well designed fairly deep reflector to be worth it at that price.

And no (visible) PWM.

EDIT: I love the looks of these though. But why use an expensive emitter like sbt90 for a 1000 lumens when a XML U2 is 10 usd in copper pcb and are known to produce same lux and lumens numbers at lower power consumption.

Now if they were a something like 150-170 usd I'd get one for modding and then sell the emitter to recover some of the money.

Does anybody know what current they drive the emitters with? The 1000 lumens for the sbt 90 quickly knocked in to a calculator says its about 7 A drive current - maybe a little higher.

Maybe an emitter swap with a copper mounted XML U2 can be done directly without changing the drive current. Not sure though since our very own Match has a bench power supply that goes up to 6 A "only" ;-)

I have a lot of thrower both aspheric and big reflector.

e.g. My TrustFire X6 SST-90 de-domed stock driver did…
@4 meter = 4850 = 77600 lux ANSI
and about 800-900 OTF

Yes I know it is all the features that make this light expensive. It IS very cool features but I'm still left wondering about some of the emitter/circuit design decisions. And visible PWM in a expensive light like this would take it straight off my short list immediately. But I hope reviews will come around sooner or later and tell us more :-)

WTf? SBT-90 at JUST 1,000 lumens? Why pay all that extra money for anything less than 2,500 lumens and 90,000+ lux?

Aside from the cutsie features, why would this light be worth it when a U2 XM-L can be driven at 1100? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t think an SBT-90 can output even 2000 lumens, unless you cool it with dry ice or something.
