I have a UV drop-in from Manafont (the Taiwan 380nm), which has worked perfectly for over a year.
I stored it in an empty 502B host, no battery, for a couple of months. Yesterday I took it out and put it in my L2i - it didn’t work. I tried to connect it directly to an external battery - didn’t work. I even tried to connect the LED directly to the battery (there are exposed pos/neg pads), but it still didn’t work.
I can’t open the drop-in, it seems to be glued.
Is there any way I can test what went wrong with the drop-in? Test for a short circuit somehow?
Why would an LED/driver suddenly die? It doesn’t ever draw more than 500mA, and I used a regular 3xAAA battery pack so no more than 4.2V…
IR and 380nm?
