Contribute Data : Discharge information most welcome ...

If you own a charger that can discharge cells and give the mAh discharged , then please feel free to add data [ new cells please ]

If you wish to cycle the cells , then please let us know which cycle you are sharing the results for ... IE / 3rd Cycle 2200mAh

Discharge rates : And charge rates

AAA Cells = Please charge / discharge / cycle @ 0.5A [ 500mAh ]

AA Cells = Please charge / discharge / cycle @ 1A [ 1000mAh ]

RCR123A = Please discharge / cycle @ 0.5A [ 500mAh ] Most chargers - WF-188 / 139 etc will charge at 500mAh or less , so not really an issue

14500 = Please discharge / cycle @ 0.5A [ 500mAh ]

18650 = Please discharge / cycle @ 1A [ 1000mAh ] or just let us know the dischargerate !

10440 = Please discharge / cycle @ 300mAh

17670 = Please discharge / cycle @ 1A

If you wrote a review - or tid bit on the cells , please let us know so we can link to your thoughts ..

Just testing ... But looks like this will work ...

Ok , so hopefully something like this , so battery is tested / reviewed ...

Results for capacity go here + other details , + in the description [ battery ] , if there is a review [ I will review any batteries I test ] , I will link to the review , as I have done on the test form . So I will keep this to play with [ learn ]

It's starting to look pretty good there old. Smile

Bit of a learning curve , but getting the hang of it , clumsily !

Ive set up a new Email for paypal , and will test , so hopefully will be able to accept donations shortly towards batteries .

I'll just get my brother to try and donate $1 to see if it works ok ...

As soon as it works, PM me your email so I can make a donation.

Looks like we are getting some where ....

Just a thought.

Google Docs is quite useful for making this data accessible - I just copy and paste stuff for the output measurements from a master spreadsheet.

Ok , supposedly new generation , 2100mAh capacity , and 85% capacity @ 12months , so I guess that makes them LSD ... [ Low Self Discharge ]

For those in Australia , Dick Smith has them for $10 @ 4 pack .. [ Feb 03-11 ] For how long ? .

Anyhow , Im just waiting for the MH-C9000 to become free ...

I will discharge first to see capacity out of the packet , then charge / discharge and charge again ...

Some results in : Discharge from packet ..

Cell 1 / 1729mAh @ 1A discharge [ Approximately 82.5% ]

Cell 2 / 1757mAh @ 1A discharge [ Approximately 84% ]

Cell 3 / 1745mAh @ 1A discharge [ Approximately 83% ]

Cell 4 / 1713mAh @ 1A discharge [ Approximately 82% ]

Ok , charged them at 1Amp , then discharged them at 1Amp

Cell 1 / 1994mAh = 95% of claimed capacity

Cell 2 / 1965mAh = 94% of claimed capacity

Cell 3 / 1972mAh = 94.5% of claimed capacity

Cell 4 / 1987mAh = 95% of claimed capacity

Well , thats not too bad ... especially as Im discharging at 1A .

Great price but the mah is a little lower than I would have expected

???????/ Results are discharge out of the packet , I dont know if they push 100% charge into the batteries , or simply a charge that will hold as long as possible in storage , until there sold ?

Im currently charging them , so will see what the discharge is after a full charge ...

But I think most people dont give out of the packet results ... But I will ... Since some people might buy them and keep them in the package till needed , or simply use them straight out of the package ...

They aren't fully charged out of the packet. Should be 80%-90% full, IIRC.

I forgot about that! I expect them to hit 2000 + after a few cycles

Those numbers are not too bad at all. Especially since you are discharging and charging at 1A. I wonder how their charge would hold up over time. I've been doing my own self-discharge test on some batteries since April of last year and so far my original eneloops (after 41 weeks) and my duraloops (after 40 weeks) are still at 100%. My powerex 2700's are still at 80% (after 43 weeks) and only started dropping down to 80% after weeks 36 and 37.

No kidding? That's really good. Do you run them completely down to 0? What current level do you charge at? I have 4 Eneloops, and they don't seem to have deteriorated much after quite a few months of use.

I'm using my ZTS MBT-1 tester to check my batteries every week. I always test a brand new set of 4 batteries and always after a break-in with my c9000. I know it's a very simple and not a very battery scientific way of doing a self-discharge test but it gives me something that I love to do.:love:

Ok , just arrived from Tasmania ... Vapex AAA LSD [ 80% capacity after 6 months - 70% capacity after 12 months ]

950mAh Typical , 900mAh Minimum capacity .

Normal charge = 15hrs @ 95mA , rapid charge 1700mA .

Cells were purchased off Ebay ...

Currently discharging straight from the packet ... @ 0.5A

Results are in :

1/ 432mAh @ 0.5A [ straight from the packet ] or 45%

2/ 342mAh = 36%

3/ 187mAh = 20%

4/ 330mAh = 35% retained charge ...

Well , thats all over the place , I might guess , A- old stock maybe , B-not so flash batts , C-counterfeit ? possibly .

Anyhow , early days .. Time to charge and discharge then charge again ...

Ok discharged @ 0.5A from being fully charged @ 0.5A

1/ 887mAh = 93.4%

2/ 899mAh = 94.7%

3/ 905mAh = 95.3%

4/ 898mAh = 94.6%

% is of the claimed 950mAh capacity ...

My maha is on its way so I will be able to contribute soon.

Ill see if i can get my HobbyKing LSD 2200mA cells tested. Ive had them for between 2-5 months and used them on my D10 torches, which pull about 2A on max, which I use about half the time. The cells range from having 2-10 discharge cycles on them.

I charge my cells on a Varta AA USB/12v charger which charges at 0.6-1A per cell in 1 or 2 pairs respectively. I will try to do a discharge and charge cycle at 1A on my icharger106+ and post my results.

So far unscientifically, the runtimes on these cells have been very impressive, especially when the cost of the cells are considered. I think it works out to be about $2 a cell shipped

PS... What voltages do we discharge to, im discharging my NiMh now, but where do i stop.

Ok 1 cell Discharged -

Cell was purchased December 2010, arrived Jan 2011. So far this is cycle number 2 on the cell ( I think)

Charged on Varta charger about 2 days prior.

Discharged at 1.0A on icharger, cutoff set to 0.7v

Capacity measured 2150mA , Time 2:07

Cell was barely warm (not a scientific measurement)

Floating voltage immediately after discharge termination back to 1.00v within 10 seconds, 1.20v within a couple minutes.

Subjective monitoring of the voltage showed a relatively flat discharge curve, holding 1.2 initially, dropping to 1.1v by 1000ma, holding 1.1v to about 2000ma, dropping to 1.0 by 2100ma, and rapidly falling below 0.9v by 2130ma and cease charge at 2150ma. This appears to be a very well maintained discharge curve, which in a practical application of my D10 torches means I barely get any warning of a flat battery.

Heres a link for the battery

If enough of us want to buy it, make a swarm, gets cheaper too.
