New to this world
In another thread I have got a lot of ideas on what I “need” so I have not decided yet and I’m changing my mind more or less every hour the more I read……
I will most likely end up with at least two lights
So I have almost decided I want a compact powerfull flood light and the Sky Ray King and the Apex 5T6 has cought my attention. Compact and powerful are key words.
Which one would you prefer of these two and why?
Do you have any other suggestions that are better for some reason?
What batteries and chargers would you suggest for these two lights? Please be as specific as possible since I’m completely new to this.
Where do I buy these lights and batteries to avoid getting fakes/mimic(clones as I understand can happen. Espcially when it comes to batteries.
APEX is floodier, but it's also somewhat bigger. This photo is from my review:

APEX is also more expensive, so in this case my vote goes to King. They are both great lights and I won't regret buying APEX either. For me it's King for jacket pocket, APEX for real work. :)
Ps. Whichever you decide to buy, go for NW emitters! It's well worth the price difference.
I’m leaning towards the King. Price and size favours this over the Apex for me (I think…).
However I’m interested in the Black Shadow but that first review better pop up any day now since I virtually have my finger on the “buy button” for the King:-)
Do not forget to comment on the battery questions ;-). I’m completly out in the blue there……
Personally I’d opt for the Sky Ray out of these two. More compact and doesn’t suffer performance wise. I think the only reason to go for the Apex is if you plan on using it for longer run times as it seems to stay cooler. If it’s only for a bit of fun then I can’t see the benefits really.
As for batteries, well I’ve currently got some EagleTac 3100’s and Solarforce 2600’s. Both seem good to me and I’ll be buying more of both. I’m using a single bay 4Sevens charger, but with 4 18650’s to charge for the Sky Ray you may want to look at something that can charge more than one at a time.
The Apex has a handle which you may like. I originally thought it was a gimmick that I would remove but that’s the way I carry the light all the time now.
