Diffuser Tip for Sipik 68

Hi guys

Any one know if there is a cheap diffuser tip that will fit my Sipik 68. I need one for a diy nav light for my kayak. I was using a molded milk carton, but would like to upgrade. Thanks for the help.

Sean

I read online that the size is 25mm. Anyone know of a tip that will fit this light. Thanks.

Sean

A water bottle cap fits on mine, but it’s flat. I dunno if you need some depth to it (like a cone or something).

Dunno diddly about Sipiks, but I have some diffuser FILM I can mail ya, if that might help.

Cuts easily w/ scissors. Install behind the lens, for ultra-floody.

If you were looking for a diffuser cone or external fixture, please ignore this.

Thanks for the responses guys. Unfortunately I am searching for a cone diffuser of some kind. I need it to look like a lantern, so that boats can see me from a distance when I am fishing at night in my kayak. So this really isn’t to diffuse the light so much as make a lantern of sorts that is visible to others. Thanks for the ideas and if you come across a diffuser cone that fits 25mm, let me know.

I must say, I have looked online and don’t think this particular diffuser wand exists. No big deal, I can continue using the milk carton tube diffuser I am currently using. Works fine, just a little ghetto.

....but Solarforce makes a screw-on Lantern head.

Sells for $20.

The 'stand' that holds the light upright is $7.

BUT: if ya buy both, the special is $19 for both pieces.Plus $2 shipping.

I have 2, and love 'em.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Gnarly

I’ll go check that out.

So one thing for 20 or 2 things for 19. That makes sense. :P

Can't make this stuff up.

These are quite good though not for the Sipik68. http://www.intl-outdoor.com/white-soft-silicone-flashlight-small-diffuser-p-299.html

Yes, I know you are saying what's the point if they don't fit my Sipik but I too am a regular canoeist and I wouldn't be relying on a Sipik68 due to the lack of proper waterproofing. (even the best of us can capsise occasionly).

The diffusers shown above fit nicely with the SkyRay S-A1 or the Tank007 TK-568, both of which are fairly inexpensive lights. Be warned, the S-A1 has horrible PWM on lower modes but that won't matter as a beacon light for your Kayak.

I bought mine from Manafont, runs nicely on 1 eneloop but much brighter on 14500.

Thanks for the response. I know that the Sipik is not ideal, but I have several and a mount already made for it. I am being cheap and lazy to not start over but if I ruin one sk68, I have others. As for the diffuser tip you showed me, it says up to 25mm which I believe will in fact fit the Sipik. I might try it out unless you know by experience that it will not. Thanks.

Sean

I tried it earlier today and figured it was too small. However, I just had another go - if you really stretch it you can make it fit over. It actually looks pretty good in flood mode as less of the light goes out through the top.

I don't know how well it would last like this but it's pretty pliable stuff. At that price you could always get a handful and if they eventually split it won't cost you a fortune. I'd say give them a try & enjoy your night fishing.

That’s the one. I will order a few backups. Thanks for testing that out for me and for sending that link. Really appreciate all of the help.

Sean

No worries at all Sean, glad I could help.
