HD2010 vs JM26

I’m am seriously considering this highly-touted HD2010 then I see this Shadow JM26 going into the market. Does anybody have both already? If not, will this newcomer be a serious contender, or be a pretender? What are your thoughts, gentlemen?

That Shadow is an awesome light I’d say  (without further inspection, of course).
HD is DD on HIGH, and Shadow will be CC, so, maybe with good 26650/18650 HD may slightly out throw that Shadow. And it cost twice as HD :open_mouth: But… better quality, better driver, better machining, smaller size

Anyone have both lights to compare? 8)

I have the JM26 (in U2 1A tint)

In the throw department I think it does around 40-45K lux (although all I can estimate that on is a Trustfire X9 (that was) doing 3A).

Despite being a 26650 torch it is very compact: you can just make out where trees are at 500m with it but it is only 144mm long.

Fit and finish is very nice, on par with the X9 however the coating is HAIII while the X9 is HAII. Also comes with a usable lanyard for once (~2mm cord) I dislike the thin nylon string ones… they feel like they could brake at any moment (which has happened to me)

I think you would have a very hard time designing a 26650 XML torch as compact and with equal throw as the JM26.

I only wish they had left the bezel unglued so I could stick a de-domed U3 in there, the 54mm (reflective only) diameter reflector looks like it was made for a de-domed XML…. or maybe I am just imaging things.

If you are after lux and lumens for $$$ get the HD2010, otherwise the JM26 is not bad for $57 (I bet for $10 less once the word got out it would sell like hotcakes)

In the coming days I think I will be having the JM26. I will post beamshot comparisons between it and my TK41, having almost identical bezel diameters.
