A Guess the Runtime Contest

I bought one of Old Lumens AA Maglights that he modded with a Nichia high-CRI LED (All SOLD - 2AA Maglites "Flag Light" Nichia 219, Carlco TIR -), put a couple of Fry’s bulk-pack alkaline AA cells in it and crammed it into my integrating sphere for a quick test (All SOLD - 2AA Maglites "Flag Light" Nichia 219, Carlco TIR -)

Well, it’s not been so quick a test. The darn thing keeps spewing light. The contest is to guess how many hours it will run before it quits. The winner gets a box of dead alkaline and zinc cells (US only, and the winner pays the postage). Some prize, huh? No obligation to accept the prize.

2.5 hours

Can you ship internationally via fedex express?

4 HOURS

over 9000!!!

4*PI hours till it stops glowing.

4:20 420 hours

I'm in with the one condition that if I win, which I will, that if any batteries have any charge at all left in them that I reserve the right to send the batteries back to texaspyro at his own expense. This torch will create light until all my kids finally leave home.

My guess is 5 days 5 hours.

before it quits? What’s the deffinition of quitting? I’m calling 14 hrs.

6 hours and 18 mins

4 days 2 hours 13 minutes 41 seconds. :D

Well, in that case, I’m going for 4 days, 2 hours, 13 minutes and 42 seconds.

Damn you! Make that 4 days 2 hours 13 minutes and 43 seconds.

The definition of when the light dies is when I (or my sensors) can’t see the light…

Can’t ship the cells internationally… postal regs and all that.

Dead cells may have some life left in them.

And all contest enterers should read that thread (All SOLD - 2AA Maglites "Flag Light" Nichia 219, Carlco TIR -) to the end… it already has over 100 hours on it…

240 hours

302hrs

6 days 6 hours 6 minutes, or 9006 minutes...

45 hours

I know how long, but I can't tell y'all.

Those Fry's batteries must have been cross bred by the Energizer Bunny.

Frys wabbit......
