What are some good budget 1xRCR flashlights?

Having been around BLF for a few weeks or so now. I’ve noticed there seems relatively little talk about budget 1xRCR/16340 lights. Indeed even the forum section seems to have more ‘premium’ flashlights mentioned than budget ones.

Are there any worthy RCR powered lights to consider?

Thanks.

Not sure exactly what you’re looking for but there are a few decent options including the 501a host + drop in. I have a Romisen twisty, single speed, very bright and well made for about $13 US from DX…can’t remember the model number…mine went through the washer/dryer and didn’t leak a drop! If you have any specifics on what you’re looking for it would help.

Trustfire Mini-01.

Nothing hugely specific, I have some spare RCR’s I’d like to use and a pocket 1 cell EDC would seem to make most sense.

I’m going to get a Nitecore EC1 as my more premium option but I’d quite like a cheaper budget alternative.

I’ve considered but probably won’t buy JetBeam PC10, Sunwayman V10R/V11R, Niteye EYE10.

In budget terms a clicky would be preferable, low or no PWM and no more than 3 modes. No disco modes would be ideal but I accept this is unlikely. I’m not wanting keychain size, just pocket friendly.

Ideally a well driven XP-G or XM-L. Something that makes use of the extra voltage of an RCR.

Budget sub $30.

I think you misspelled "BLF Mini". ;)

+1 for that.

I have two suggestions and own and recommend both.

TrustFire/BLF Mini

Apex Gas Tin

I just ordered a crelant v31a for ~30$…got it in neutral also…

i also recommend the mini 01. bit on the heavy side, but darn bright.
a little over your budget, but the eagletac d25c has gotten some good attention as well.

never seen or heard much about that apex gas tin, could you give us some comparison notes vs the mini?

Apex review: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/5158

Comparison in a nutshell...

  • Apex is XP-G and Mini is XM-L
  • Mini is much brighter than the Apex on 16340 cell
  • Mini much heavier than the Apex
  • Both very good build quality but Apex is superb.
  • Both within a mm or two in size. Both as small as it gets.

Anyone got one of these, are they one to avoid, or not a bad punt for the money?

I carry a single cr123/16340 light or 2 every day.

My favorites are:

Olight i1 or ITP 1A (about $30)

Trustfire Mini 01 (about $15)

Tank007 M10 (about $18)

The one I particularly want to mention is the Yezl P3. It is a rebranded light made by EDI-T.

I don’t think that the EDI-T one is available anymore.

This light has zoom, High and Low settings and has ramping mode from very low to high light level, has slow strobe, med strobe and fast strobe as well as SOS.

You can go to the mode you want quickly by using the correct number of taps on the soft switch. A shorthand reminder of what to do is printed at the base of the light.

I like this one so much that I got a spare.

It is well made and a steal for the price

Good call on the EC1. It is my EDC, and the Mini-01 is on my keychain. The mini was getting a lot of talk before yhe group buy, but now we’re all just waiting……

that tank 007 m10 and yezl especially caught my eye. i assume the mini is still the brightest? so which of these three has the greatest flood and throw? can you please give us some quick notes between the three.

The Yezl has the most throw because it has Zoom. It is also biggest, but still easy to pocket.

The TF Mini-01 has most flood. On high it eats batteries and gets hot fast.

The Tank007 M10 is midsize between the others. It has a Q2 and does ok at both throw and flood, never gets very hot, last a long time on battery and has a magnet in the tail.

I like them all.

I carry the Olight i1 on a neck lanyard because it is smallest and lightest and one of the others in my pocket while at work.

i went ahead and ordered that yezl. thanks for the heads up.
