Sunwayman M10R R5 Copy $25.15

This light looks similar to the Sumwayman but it can take only Cr123 only.

Kaidomain has it for $25.15. Can someone find the website.

The ebay listing states Don't Use 3.7v 16340 for this flashlight

It's a cheap light but for the voltage. Threads look cheap. Who will buy this light and try a 16340 battery?

Interesting. There was a similar “magnetic ring” light on BuyInCoins that some of us got a while back, but no longer available. 123A only is fine, but quality is uncertain.

Looks pretty interesting. One thing I don't like is the 25% low. Far too bright for a low mode, IMO. Aside from the low mode, I also wouldn't get it if it couldn't run on 16340 cells. I'm still waiting for budget clones of the SWM lights with full variable rings, not stepped brightness rings.

You are referring to this light which can still be had from Tmart. Still one of my favorite lights in the CR123A/16340 size.

This is similar I reckon, I posted it the other week but gained little interest.

My magnetic 18650 light from BuyInCoins was good example of a deep reflector thrower but the magnetic mechanism it had wasn’t the best I had seen. The light was made to be turned on and off through the tail and modes would change via the magnetic ring. However from time to time, light wouldn’t light up with the click on the switch but usually needed a twist of the magnetic ring as well. Magnetic operation wasn’t that much reliable either. It seemed to have reed relays in body and a magnet on the ring. Sunwayman on the other hand uses a magnetic sensor on their variable output lights. I don’t know how they implement fixed mode lights in Sunwayman.

After that fiasco with the noname magnetic light I stay away from cheap magnetics. Still I would like to try a reliable one again.

I’ve had better luck with mine. I don’t think the mechanism is too hard to make since it’s also on a cheapie diving light I got from buyincoins (also no longer sold) for ~15. Pretty waterproof (in the tub at least) so it’s sound in implementation even with perhaps questionable quality control.

Ah, back in stock: http://www2.buyincoins.com/new_en/details/waterproof-professional-20m-diving-magnetic-control-switch-flashlight-torch-3-product-16116.html

The only downside to this is 1. O-ring in back a bit tight, 2. No rear switch, so there maybe some minor parasitic drain even when the magnetic switch is turned to “off”. Pretty good quality overall though.

Hex, I haven’t seen that light before. Is it truly stepless variable?

It’s not stepless, but rather same 6 settings as the rest. 3 brightness, 2 blink, 1 off.

Similar output to a C8.

Bummer. I was hoping the description was correct.

"3 Modes operation: Stepless level, Strobe and SOS"

@ Agenthex: Is that a XRE led in that C8 size light or what led is it using??

xr-e. output more or less the same as any xr-e c8, except you get the mag control ring as part of the “diving” design (since it’s in theory sealed all the way down). Not a bad light to try out the interesting mix of features.

At that price it seems like a bargain. In fact 2 great features for 15 usd. Hmm. Have you by any chance tried if the bezel is removable or glued?? Maybe an emitter swap would boost output considerably. Since the XP-G2 has arrived I've been looking for good hosts to use it in.

And another Q: Are the levels also 25/50/100% and what about PWM ??

The buy incoins light only comes on in high ...Any other setting it didn;t light up ...i have the Nitecore Sr3 which is what the light was trying to copy ..it's obviously much much nicer and has a huge ss bezel which keeps if firmly faceplanted on my nightstand ..i like the looks of the fake sunwayman...Someone need s to be a guinia pig ...just not me

It’s glued, or at least I can’t get it off. Levels are 100/50/10, 1A or so on high (I suspect DD) and pwm not very good on the two lower levels. I also suspect same manufacturer or brethren of the other light above since the circuit has the exact same characteristics (also doesn’t start on low for instance, but not a big deal with this light since you need to move past high to get to low anyway given there’s no other switch).

It also comes on in medium or blink modes, just not low. Like it has to get a certain amount of power applied to turn on.
