As you are in the UK you might want to check out The Torch Site. They do an XP-E and an XP-G drop in. Cheap and easy to fit, although not the most power or best heatsinking but they do work quite well and are good VFM.

Any reason you want a Q5 specifically? (presume you mean X-RE Q5?)

Yes a friend has one in Maglite 2 D Cell, and i was very impressed with it has an aspheric lens on it he has had it a good few years now but the place he purchased his from Kaidomain no longer have them thank you for the reply.

It will work fairly well but due to no heatsinking will not run at full brightness constantly.

That one is a little bit to small, you would need to wrap a O-ring around it to make it work.

I have that Malkoff XP-G drop-in in our Maglite. It's been a while since I got it.

BTW the Maglite twist focus is still retained. It's nice.
