KD 7135 V2 Troubleshooting

Asking for some help on this. Below is the KD 7135 V2 driver. If I solder my negative wire onto the LED negative pad but overflow to the outer ring does that turn my multi-mode driver into single mode?

I wanted two modes. On the other side I made a solder blob across S2 & S3 for (Hi, Med).

It's installed in my Romisen RC-T602, which at the moment is rocking at 3 amps.

Yes, it does. Not even regulated, in fact. Direct Drive.

I think in the future I'll try to feed the wire down into those holes on the solder pad. Not very deep though. I think that should help me stay on that small negative solder pad.

You’re probably just using too much solder. You don’t need as much as you probably think you need.

A small blob on the contact, a tinned wire tip, and just melt them together.

Yep, cainn is probably right… Either way, Not much of a big deal, just unsolder, clean up the short, and re-solder

Thanks, that's all good advice. Today I tried to resolve the direct drive issue and I see that I will have to destroy the driver (like I did with the original) to remove it. The 17mm driver is pushed in a tight ring and won't budge.

But I like the output. Right now it's a lot brighter than my Thrunite TN11. Throws like my Maelstrom X-10.
