L3 Illumination X40 Triple U3!

Triple XML U3 3200 lumens +Rechargeable

Price?: Hoping to hit $199. I may only be able to hold that price as an introductory offer though!

nice! its going to be a beast!

NICE!!! CPF has a pic of the Fenix TK75 so it’s either this or that one

The K40 doesn’t have any PWM so is it safe to assume this doesn’t either?

Are the lumens theoretical or real OTF?

Any chance of a video demonstration in the near future?

How wide is the head on that?

looks nice…if I didn’t have a tn30 i’d be all over it…

A neutral white version would be nice

Jake, be careful Thrunite don’t come out with another “combo” next month, and try to screw you again.

There shouldn’t be any PWM but I will double check

Video demonstration of course

Measurements will come soon

NW will definitely be an option as well as NW for the K40

Woody, I think Thrunite thinks it may be a clone for them or something but the K40 has a lot of differences. While the driver is very similar there are differences. Also physically the bezel, the glass, the head, the body, the tailcap etc etc are all different. It’s not like it was just pulled off the TN31 assembly line and rebranded which would have saved a LOT of time and energy to do. I think TN31 slashing just shows how much Thrunite overcharges for the flashlight which albeit is one heck of an amazing flashlight.

+1

According to SupBeam’s info around 68mm Diam.
181.5mm length
580 grams without the battery

No offense to Jake but if I were going to drop coin on a throwing triple like this I might hold out for the BTU Shocker. Hard to tell from the pics but the reflector on the BTU looks wider than this one and should throw farther. Sure is a pretty light though.

Oooh, just noticed its a U3 and not a U2……interesting!

But this will be a flooder, won’t it (ie not a million miles from the TN30 spec)?

+1 JohnnyMac. From the pictures, the X40 has a smaller head, I'm sure can't throw as far as the Shocker. If only the X40 had a turbo mode and the Shocker had U3's, we'd be in business.

Those BTU Shocker pics were incredible! L3 Illumination/Jake should take note of that - lets' see what the X40 proto can do! I don't know why, but I guess these manufacturers don't want us burning up their lights with some real power .

How long can it run at 3200 lumens before it starts to dim?
Using a 3100 panasonic, for example.

hmmm kinda pricey coz of what seems like a magnetic charging port…

I agree, that might actually hold me back on this one, when I spend that kind of money I tend to stick to the name brands

Any more updates, Jake?
