Nitecore D10 SP available at KD

I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that this light was not available anymore and had to be found used to get it. I may be wrong, however, if I am right, I've heard that these are one of the most popular and loved EDC lights by flashaholics everywhere Smile

For the price ($48.99 plus free shipping) is this a good deal for such a popular and loved light? I absolutely love a fully knurled light such as this one and all I've heard is praise about the D10 having the best knurling on the market.

I was considering the Nitecore D11, but it is running for at least $15 more (canadian pricing).  Is this D10 a good alternative?

They also have the EX10 as well.

Ive been eyeing these too, however Im not sure if its the usual bad information thing with KD.

1) The items seem to cycle on the newly added list... So old items may reappear on the list and still be 'soldout'

2) The stock status of KD involves 3 states - Soldout, 1-3 days, instock. The first means nothing for you, the second usually severely delays orders, but if there is stock around somewhere, you may get it, and the last usually means normal slow delivery.

3) We know that nitecore stopped making the D10 (sp) like a year ago. Its unlikely that nitecore has any stock at all of the D10sp. (i know 6 months ago there were no spares for the D10 at all when I enquired directly) So with this in mind, the only other source can be suppliers that have old stock.

Sooo.. regardless of the fact that it might not ever be available, the SP in black is still tempting me. I too am seriously considering buying one.

What im looking at

1) SP black - Dont know if its 1st or 2nd gen body.

2) SP Camo - I know this can be bought for that price from others stores, in stock still.

3) EX10 Ramping - for the ramping UI, also $49

And then it hits me that im going to be spending at least $100 to get another ramping D10 going (EX10 for the ramping, D10 for the body).

I dont know.........

The D10 Ramping is THE most sought after model, the SP less so, but not too bad. I only have ramping models, and gifted my SP. Wouldnt mind getting another sp, if not for something the family can use without getting confused.

At $50 its not bad. The Camo version has always been available at $50 from other HK dealers, but depends on whether you like having a Camo torch. The bonus is that you get the (really goood) clip included already, and the piston has a slot for a big tritium vial.

Heres a CPF link to a single post about the D10 and its short history.

Lighttake has the D11 for 55 bux... D10 SP has fixed modes and an XR-E R2 emitter ...D11 the newer emitter XP-G R5 and ramping but no shortcuts.... I liked the non-SP D10 best but it is sold out... ramping with shortcuts... still don't know why Nitecore discontinued it...

Because its TOO good... Surprising however that the D10 Tributes did take a while to sell out at BJ. So As much as we wanted it, it obviously didnt seem that way in the sales. Sad because its the one I really like..

Btw, Ive added a link to a CPF thread about the D10, and its short history. Helps explain the various models that were released by nitecore and others.

What I really want is a Grey, Ramping Hybrid (newer piston). They are about as hard to find as hens teeth. Saw one on the MP the other day go for $55, sold within 2 minutes.
