What's your favorite P60 host and why?

Aloha my friends! So what is your favorite P60 host and why? Since I ordered 2 - XML P60 drop-ins from Manafont yesterday, I'm looking for 2 - P60 bodies for the 2 extra drop-ins I will soon have. I really like SolarForce (I have 2 - L2m's & an L2) and I'm leaning towards another SF but I am open to any and all suggestions. Mahalo! Smile

They do look good but how does the meat tenderizer grip feel? For some reason it doesn't look--to me anyway--comfortable to hold.

BTW old, what is your favorite SolarForce if you do have a fave?

Funny you should ask fishinfool, and funny you should respond with that old4570 :) I just recieved my XM-L p60 drop-in from manafont, and placed it in my solarforce L2i which I absolutely love. Favorite P60 host. However, I had to remove the XPG-R5 drop in that was currently in it so now I have a very nice drop in lying around.

So to fix this problem, I just ordered the L2x body :) After seeing a review on CPF and a video on youtube, and knowing the current quality of my L2i, it was a simple choice. The L2x has dual o-rings at the back. When I get it, and spring comes around, I am going to toss the light to the bottom of my friends (10 ft deep) pool and leave it there in the 'on' position. Just to show how well sealed these solarforce lights are. I love the fact that they seem so waterproof, the l2x has HAIII, and its beefy and rugged. I think I'll make it my camping/canoetrip/wilderness excursion light :)

L2P is fav followed by 502d lol

L2P is heavier duty ( with s5 switch) 502d/b are best bang for your buck

Both the L2P and L2X .. There the same light internally ..

The L2X is fine to hold , unless you grip it with a gorilla grip , then you will feel the lumps , just a gentle grip [ like normal ] and its fine ...

I really do like the L2X [ and L2P ] , This year I will buy more [ L2X - L2P ] at least one of each ... Im just wondering if I should get a grey L2P

Favorite ? L2M [ 18650 ] , L2X - L2P ..

If I could buy all over again ? 2 or 3 L2M's [ 18650 ] , the rest would be L2P or L2X

I like the 502B because it has some heft to it and looks good, but the inside of the head is too big and takes a lot of aluminum strips to fill the gap around the drop-in, plus the inside is anodized too which will block even more heat. The black looks good, better than the glossy Solarforce L2 (though I don't actually have a black L2). I put an orange clicky cover on it that I think looks really good.

I like the 504B in silver. It tailstands and has a flat bezel by default, which the Solarforces do not. Don't know how easy it is to get just a host though. Mine came with a XR-E R2 drop-in. Now it has a neutral XP-G R4 and is one of my favorites. Knurling isn't as deep as the Solarforces, which is fine with me.

I have the Solarforce L2 in gunmetal gray and the L2i in Sand and prefer the L2, though the L2i is nice because you can put an XP-G drop-in and use 3xAAA batteries and have a really nice bright light that uses conventional batteries. I just don't like the looks of the L2i as much as the L2 (the L2i is mostly just a knurled cylinder). Also I like the gunmetal gray, which is kind of glossy and greenish-gray, more than the flat matte of the tan L2i.

Just recently ordered a L2p and looking forward to getting it, but it has been stuck with Hongkong Post since Feb. 18. That's probably one you should try out.

The ones I don't like: the 501B which is lightweight and to me doesn't look as good as the 502B. Also I got a fake Solarforce L2 from Lighttake and don't particularly care for it, even though it is basically the same as my 504B except for color.

Or we could wait and hope and beg Jim at manafont to hurry up and get another sweet promotion going again. And pick up a host or two from him:D

The only problem with the grey is that any addon you might want for it wont be the same colour.

Having said that I've got two of the grey coloured L2P's and they are very nice.

L2P-no competition. Best looks and nice matte HAIII finish. I don't like shiny ano.

INCOMING!!!!! NEWBIE QUESTION ALERT!!! If I get the L2P and the XML P60 drop-in from Manafont, is it as easy as screwing the drop-in into the head? Is the circuit board already on the drop-in? Flashoholic-in-training needs guidance. LOL

Yes it is just as easy as you said. just screw off the top - put the dropin inside the head and screw it back on the body -----DONE.

That would be nice because I need at least 2 hosts but most likely 3 but who knows how long it would take to get the deal done.

That pisses me off also because they sell different colored flashlights and only black add-ons. And some of the black add-ons like the s5 doesn't even match up with the shiny black lights because it's flat or satin fargin black. |(

Well thanks a ton for all the help guys but I think I'll be getting a couple L2P's because it looks very cool to me and plus it's on sale for $17.99 (it was $29.99).

A great and safe bet for sure! You will love the quality and robust build:)

I live pretty much everything about the L2P's. I know some people want quiet switches, but I really like the loud reasuring quality sound of the click.

I like my L2 after I sanded the points off halfway .

Oh , and that's a Manafont T6 dropin - awesome Laughing

It's an assembly of a reflector, LED, and driver that is standardized and can be put in empty flashlights (hosts) that accommodate them.

I love the way they look so I just ordered 2 of them. :p

Thanks a bunch for everyone's advice!
