what do you think, are any of these worth the doh? even for madability?

I think the last one is worth the money. It is Romisen RC-B12

http://www.dealextreme.com/p/romisen-rc-b12-cree-q2-wc-2-led-uv-2-mode-230-lumen-led-flashlight-grey-1-18650-2-cr123a-16848

Just bougt one :)

# 1 .. we've been over this 100 times .. it's not a p 60 host .. it's POS with a lame lexan .. an el lamo lexan .. lexon .. lexoff crapola .. worth about 4 $ to an 11year old kid with only 4 $. avoid it

#2.. alot smaller ..2$ or make an offer ?? ahh ok .. 83 cents.. has a great look .. gotta be pure horse hockey ..never seen one face to face or real pics .. just instinct here ..

#3. everybody knows what this is/ it is what it is .. butthe popularity factor has to be included into this light .. people like it and so people will buy it ...

#4 same as #1 but a q4 which means a q anything q2 q3 ?? since no one can tell anyway .. this has been discussed to death as well by budgeteer or mmm I forget it was about a month ago .... junk light.. junk host waste of any $ and time ..bad investment on these ... mine was 3$ shipped and it's so lame I'd never in a million years waste the money on the batteries to fire it up ..

5 . the ad alone scares me . too many nice edi-t lights to buy for flood to zoom at around 10~12 $ i'd spend the extra 2 bucks for a well built light

6.. no opinion .. the rest of what he sells isn't real impresive .. he shipps pretty fast i think I've bought blf delights or something from him

7 ... never seen it..But it looks to me to be maybe the most interesting of all of them

Boaz, please reword what you say on here, i unfortunatly dont see how you could have been over the light 100 times, and personally have never seen it.

this is meant to be a fun place, your comming across quite aggressive.

We all have quite different opinions on these cheapies. Personally I like most of the ultra-budget lights that I've purchased, but I also don't have a problem calling something a piece of junk. But at any rate even if I consider something to be a piece of junk, it's just my opinion and people can try whatever they fancy. That's the fun of budget lights, it won't make a noticeable dent in your life savings if it doesn't turn out the way you expected. So normally a forceful rejection of a certain light is not really necessary. Just remember: Real friends don't let friends buy from Neverbuying.com. ;-)

Romisen RC-B12 review: http://www.taschenlampen-test.de/reviews/romisen-rc-b12 (you don't really have to understand German for this one)

Looks like the UV lights are ~400nm.

Is there any way to get just the 18650 holder? (sure, I could try find a plastic tube with the right inner/outer diameter, but I prefer something ready...)

With $12.99 shipping. Personally find that sort of pricing dishonest............especially when they warn that delivery may take up to one month, and promise to ship 'within 3 days of payment'.

#1 looks like this one at tmart. Outwardly these things remind me of a Hugsby M2 (example at DX).

Well, it certainly looks interesting. Thanks for the links, Haggai and xP. :)

I was recently given a bunch of 16340s and now I have more than I really know what do with.

Be-Seen Triker - that looks like the "famous" Skyray. It's actually one of the best P60 hosts I own and one of my favorite lights. I bought one when DX started selling them and everybody was going nuts about them about a year or so ago. The "R5 Super Bright" drop-in kicked the bucket a few weeks ago after quite a bit of use on two 16340s (I'd guesstimate 80%) and 18650 (20%) but the host is still going strong. Fit and finish of my sample are excellent and there appear to be no visible scratches, other than the one it came with, courtesy of Hong Kong Post and/or DX's warehouse staff. And I didn't exactly baby this light: whenever I needed a bright and reliable light, I'd often just throw the Skyray in a backpack or suitcase and be done with it. The o-ring that is supposed to hold the lens in place is too small and it is a P60 host so heat dissipation is probably going to be an issue with a hard-driven drop-in, even though the S-R5 is actually one of the better designs in terms of heat transfer.

The drop-in is actually what makes or breaks this light but at $14, I wouldn't expect too much. DX still wants about $20 and they used to be closer to $25 when they came out. On the other hand, $14 for a well-made a P60 host isn't all that bad, if you ask me.

Oh, and it has an orange tail cap. I'm a sucker for orange tail caps. :D

Oh, and I'm with Boaz on #1, by the way. I bought one off of eBay a few months back and not only does it not come with a CREE emitter, it's also not very bright. I'd recommend you stay away from that one and buy something else... or a $5 sub. Either way, you're getting more for your five bucks. ;)

This is not uncommon on ebay. It may appear misleading at first, but there can be advantages. The seller will pay less commission to ebay, the buyer will often pay less tax/duty if buying from another country. But if the buyer is unhappy and wants a refund... Just $.99, not the shipping!

It does look exactly like my Skyray SR-5 from DX which I paid almost $20 for so 14 bucks looks like a pretty good deal but it's not going to be anywhere close to 1000 lumens.

Oh yeah, I remember that. It's a little bit cheaper but not by much.

The flashlight with the skyray body sold with many different drop-ins. I know the Q5, R4, R5 and with the XM-L (named RQ-7 or something like this).

This one has a Cree Q5 (the auction text said: Package includes: 1 * Cree Q5 800LM Torch).

The 800 Lumens are extremly overrated. We all know, that this is impossible to get 800 Lumens of a Q5.

Noobs don't know that, bought them and like the brightness, because they couldn't compare it with a real 800 Lumens flashlight. If they could, they know, that they have only about 200 Lumens (depends on the drop-in)

You can buy thge body in grey or black. The body is often used and a china copy of the Lumens Factory Seraph SP6.

hey does anyone wanna buy a skyray off me?

i had a manafont mix up, and i dont particularly like the design

its the same skyray in the pictures with an R5 4.2v-8.4V 5 mode drop in

esp if your in the US, cause international shipping is expensive lol

I asked one a seller that had th exact same advetising. Turns out to be Q5.

Some quick impressions of the RC-B12: I really don't have all that much to add to the excellent review Haggai linked to above, so this is going to be rather brief. First of all, I'm impressed with the seller. I received the flashlight today and the customs declaration was dated February 28th. As far as I am concerned, they earned their 5 star DSR. The flashlight itself appears to be flawless, in the truest sense of the word: I can't seem to find anything wrong with it. It's not extraordinary or anything but my sample appears to be really well made.

As far as I can tell, it's identical to the DX version, minus the momentary-on switch, of course, except mine is black whereas the the light DX sells appears to have sort of a silverish finsih. I do not own the DX version so all I have to go on are the pictures and we all know how reliable those are, but I can't seem to spot any differences.

In terms of output, I'm afraid I can't provide all that much information since I'm currently overseas (as an aside, if anyone needs any pictures from CeBit, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do) but I did bring my Skyray 1JC8 and in an open field, the Skyray (SMO) does outthrow the RC-B12 (lightly textured OP reflector), but not by much. The Skyray is noticably brighter though. I never played around much with the UV part but it does light up some parts of the German 10 and 20 Euro note, which is all I have right now and it does nothing to any of the US currency I have in my wallet. O-rings in all the right places, lightly lubed, won't tailstand, very light knurling, reverse clicky, noticably brighter on 2x 16340, holster didn't impress me but then again, when I hear holster I think gun and I don't really know a whole lot about flashlight holsters, nor do I use them.

My apologies for the rudimentary mini-review. I haven't really had more than a few minutes to play with it but so far, it seems like it's a steal at $10.
