Can someone explain how to measure amps in a battery without blowing a fuse?
/facepalm. :P Basically you can't, the DMM measures Amps but you want to find out amp hours. If you try to use the amp setting you will just be shorting your battery. (Bad)
The best way to do it is a hobby charger but if not that then you could hook it up to a constant load (e.g. 1 amp) and then time how long it takes to drain the battery.

Do you want to measure the amperage of a particular load(flashlight)? Or do you want to measure battery capacity?
