Hey all!
Just received a few things via the China post… Trustfire TR-J18 (7 XML-T6) and the Trustfire AK-47 (9 XML-T6) as well as the Intellicharger i4 and 6 Nitecore NL183 2300mAh 18650’s. Holy Moly!!! Impressed with the TR-J18, but the AK-47 is truly amazing. Probably paid a bit too much for them but I cannot believe the amount of light they put out. Definitely not throwers, but absolutely the brightest lights I have ever used!

What made you buy the J18 if your getting the 9XML-T6? Anyways ridiculous flashlight names.
To be frank…… Just cuz I could. I have been eyeing them both for 4 or 5 months and recently got a very generous bonus from my employer so I said crap why bother making a decision…. Just get them both!

Also, I concur with the odd names… Where do they come up with this stuff. It’s like the android operating systems… Jelly bean, ice cream sandwich… That must confuse the hell out of the non-English speaking people in the world. Hell, it confuses me!
i just ordered the trustfire a47 last night. i have been agonizing over which light to buy, j18, x00, sr 9xt6 and finally decided to get the trustfire. did you get the package deal on the trustfire with the batteries and charger? that was an expensive way to go. i purchased just the light and will do a quick and dirty review when i get it unless you want to.

I purchased just the Trustfire AK-47 with no package deal. I bought the charger and batteries separately. You are gonna love the light! SUPER BRIGHT FLOODY GOODNESS!

Just as a heads up, I ordered the light on the 19th and it arrived the 27th. Not too bad for mainland China. If you got yours out of Hong Kong it may take a bit longer.
This and the Skyray 9xt6 are pretty much the same thing.

Does yours get to 200°F too?
Haven’t tested the temp yet, but I had it on High this morning for about 20 minutes and I noticed it getting warm but not super hot. I tested the batteries, which were at 4.15 volts when I started and when I finished they were at 3.8 volts.
An AK-47 is an assault rifle. Maybe they called this an AK-47 because when you turn it on it is an assault flashlight.
Yup, I am familiar with the AK-47 rifle and it’s variants. Now if I could just get the bad guys to look directly into the lens of my AK-47 assault light……
Where did you get the AK-47 from? I’m thinking about the Sky Ray version or this one.

The Sky Ray with freshly charged batteries (MNKE 26650’s) was up to 190° after 20 minutes on high.
And my batteries after 30 minutes were down to 3.68v
So I wonder what the difference in these two are.
i went with the trustfire for several reasons but one was the difference in head diameter, i believe the sr was 8cm , the trustfire was 8.5. time will tell…

I believe its confirm to be able to tell the diff by 1 look of the output of both light.
But is the 9x XML very much brighter over j18? any photos of the light output power/lumens/intensity to compare & share? Please? :bigsmile:
Reason is; when i compare my j18 with my 3t6, i know its brighter by quite a bit, but not by those “@##^ wow so much brighter kind of feeling”
err… like comparing HID with a C8? am i too greedy?
how much did you pay for the ak47? sounds like maybe a better skyray 9xt6?
