Long time reader. Career musician/sound guy/lighting director. My fave is a “Super Trooper” carbon arc follow spot used for arena shows. Big time thrower. Way old school now.
I’m still using Par 64 cans with 1000 watt incan bulbs on stage now. I have 80 cans on the backline and 10ea. 750 watt “leko” ellipsoidal cans on the front wash. almost 100,000 watts @ 120 volts. Lotsa lumens and lotsa heat.
Waiting for LEDs to come up in lumens and down in price before I invest in a new rig.
