Simple lanyard for the 2D Maglite

After doing a few mods to my 2D Maglite I wanted to fit a lanyard to my 2D as I am going to buy a glass lens and did not want to drop it and risk the chance of smashing it.
So looking amounts my bits trying to find something I could use to fit a lanyard I came across a 10mm ball post and D ring that I have in the past used on my leather goods. (these can be bought for as little as £3 for 10 on ebay)

It’s as simple as drilling a small hole in the end cap and screwing the post on. The middle of the centre cap is marked on the inside so easy to get it centred in the cap.

All fitted and done in less than 5 mins at a cost of around 30pence

I know it’s not the best but it will do me and hopefully save my new glass lens.

What are those called ? Or eBay link

These are the only ones I can find at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260985649695?var=560100180867&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&\_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Ball post and D ring I know they have something similar that holds the plug and chain on a bath tub or sink. the ones I use are used in the leather making world so might find them that way.

That's a clever mod , Gazo .

I like clever stuff .

I like it. Good job!

Nothing wrong in making use of what you have on hand. Necessity is the mother of invention!

Nice idea

If you could make one out of tungsten carbide, it could double as a glass breaker

Alex, I’m pretty sure a 2D maglite doesn’t need any additional accessories to break glass! :cowboy_hat_face:
