This one has had 5X5mm leds which light output was awful. Now has a XR-E Q3 with an AK-47 driver with 2 MC7135 , 700 mA at H...the emitter is thermally glued to a 2mm thick aluminum piece...the light now is very usable despite the blueish tint...first tried with an Osram diode warm tint 1 MC , 350 mA, as the difference in output is not very noticeable this mod would last until the hardware store open, need some glue sticks to put a lens and swap the emitter again
The innards with the 10440 and the driver
Very nice mod arenat.

Good idea!
Keep up the good work!
The numbers from my light tests are always to be found here.

Thanks guys!
Another try, with some lens unknown angle sanded down , nice warm tint, Osram...
Being the package of the diode square I cut his angles to fit the lens , the beam is narrow, maybe too narrow for a headlamp..
Finally with a bit of work the result is fine, better than expected.
Emitter ; Osram Golden Dragon Warm tint 120 Lumen
High .700 A
Med .200 A
Low .035 A
Power; 10440 li-ion
Slide switch
Rear magnet
Weight; 34 grs With battery..
The low mode is enough to read and the high is a bit too much for close work, the sanded lens give a very even nil artifact flood spot.
The only problem is that I can't find the band
