is 18650 the brightest torch I can get?

Hi I am new to the world of torch.

Hope to get a impressive showoff light bugeted at around 40 buck.

Previously I bought a quark aa x 2 and it was not impressive. Actually I have little use of the show light except to on it for 1-2 mins to admire the power of technology.

Can anyone recommend me one? As I live in asia I prefer dx or ebay or even taobao. Thanks a lot

I bought the HD 2010 from Tmart for around $32. It takes a 18650 or a 26650.

Beamshot from the HD 2010. Illuminated building is not less than 60 meters away.

Hmmm...lumens per dollar...I'd say the Trustfire TR-3T6 for around $25 these days is a bargain. If you can get a SkyRay/FandyFire King for $40 on sale somewhere grab it!

For a single cell light a XinTD C8 w/U3 emitter from I-O at around $30 is a fantastic light. Any good C8 style with XM-L will be a blaster. Ultrafire or the KD house brand are super bright and less than $20.

In addition to the great suggestion of an HD2010, there is also the SS ZY-T13, the SS ZY-T08, the UF-V3...the list could go on and on.

Thanks JohnnyMac, I never realized there was such a wide range of choices these days.

Thanks all.

Is 18650 the most powerful battery one can put in torch?

If by “powerful” you mean highest power density, then yup.

So far the best stock single 18650 thrower I have seen/own is the eagletac g25c2, Mark 2, but it's kind of pricey... almost as much can be had for half the price.

26650?

18650 isnt a torch for starters, and no it is not the brightest :stuck_out_tongue:

but you can get a 120W HID torch now that is the brightest if thats what you mean.

I guess what he means is: An 18650 isn’t a torch - it’s a cell (or as you mistakenly said, a battery). So probably no need to get up on that high horse

Cheers

maybe someone needs to read up on safety of lion cells first before pointing fingers. glad someone knows i am giving good constructive criticism. and no its NOT just another device, gotta treat lions with respect unlike AA akalines … infact any rechargable battery is a hazard.

do your research before purchase a lion type torch be informed.

especially the bright ones that use multiple cells. i only keep certain cells for certain torches and make sure its balanced.
