Some have been lucky to keep refreshing a browser window to win the $50 off, but I suspect that wont work for the vast majority of us.
A few tips before you begin:
The total must be exactly $100, including the $.01 tracking the page inserts automatically.
You can order only one of a particular item.
If you have trouble making an even order for $100.00, you can use google to find items on dx for the remaining amount you are trying to spend. Example: lets say your order totals $97.50 and you cant find anything for $2.50 that interests you. Go to google.com and type in “dx.com $2.50” without the quotes.
To win:
Once you have a $100.00 order, open 10 more browser folders on the dx shopping cart page before the sale starts.
Copy the current days coupon code listed here. You can highlight the code and press ctrl C keys at the same time to copy the code into your computers memory.
Now go to each of the 10 shopping cart browser windows and insert the discount code by clicking the space “any coupon?” then press ctrl V keys at the same time to paste the code. The code appears in the space.
Make sure your time is correct and exact. Pay no attention to DX time. 10 seconds before the sale begins, open each folder and select checkout in 2 second increments.
Once the pages refresh, look at the totals to see if you won the $50 off. The browser folders will probably all time out after a minute or so. Just make the rounds and keep opening each folder, checking to see if you won. If not, refresh the browser, reinsert the discount code (press ctrl V in the space provided for the discount code) and try again.
You’ll be busy for up to 30 minutes refreshing all your windows and reinserting the code, but eventually you should hopefully end up with 4 or 5 browser windows showing the $50 refund. If you get more than one winner, DO NOT CLOSE THE OTHER WINDOWS YET!! They are valid place holders of only 200 available for that day. Continue with the checkout in any of the windows that gave you the $50 refund to see if paypal loads and allows you to pay for the goods. Complete the transaction if you can. Several of my windows still timed out during the paypal stage but one finally went through. I waited 5 minutes between each failed payment to allow the workload on the dx server to slack off. The order I won today completed about 35 minutes after the sale began… so it seems to work well this way.
Maybe others can chime in with some more tips. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Power that 6 x XML outdoor floodlight project. Drive them each to 3A on that huge heavy scrap of aluminum… uh, massive heat sink you have lying around.
You’re going to be busy with mods from all the flashlights you just bought so dont forget the essentials. Also, never brush your teeth with this stuff. Tastes nasty as hell and will gum up your mouth for weeks!
I had some trouble getting 100 in my cart… it was 101.25 then 98.75…
hopefully it picked up the full 100, and the coupon… because I finished filling when ….
So of the 200 coupons available like 10 will get used. Well its certainly good idea how to give few people a discount while pissing of thousands of others.
If you count total time wasted, each discount costs like 1000 USD!!!
Thanks for the tips to winning this deal, but I've tried 2 times now and kept getting an error. I am reluctant to try anymore because it just seems impossible to get through with the network traffic resulting in the cart site crashing. I wish I had ordered more from Wallbuys when I had the chance, but I figured I would wait for the DX sale which had more items I really wanted.
I guess another thing we have to keep in mind, is that how less items you have in your cart, how more chance you have???
I had only 2, and nailed it a few days ago… And the OP had 3…
I also understand that a page may load a little little bit slower with more items in your cart… not sure though, but that might be another possibility.
my problem was, that I didnt finish filling my cart till 100 when the new round started, so I had problems with adding and deleting items. One Tab showed 1 price, and the other Tab showed another price… which was a bit confusing!
I appreciate the tips…but I wonder. By opening so many windows, you might be “hogging” the available 200 deals. You have 50 people doing this, and very few people get the deal and end up frustrated and wasting time.
Came here to say thanks. Finally on the fourth day I get it! It turns out my second tab is the one that got the deal. I started refreshing it just a few seconds before the clock rolled over. I wonder if I can get it twice? I guess that’s being a bit greedy.
I should mention that although I started right before the start time, I didn’t get the page to load with confirmation till about an hour and 15 minutes after deadline. Yup, even the regular cart adding and checkout on another computer wasn’t working. I sure hope they come up with a better sale next time round as I agree only 200 people get to win per day. For an online site that services the world, they could do a little better. However I am glad I was one of the lucky 200!!
