Hunting for 1000 lumens w/ JohnnyMac

Naturally, this began with JohnnyMac’s efforts, U3, IMR 14500, finned head to deal with the heat, etc. Just a few pictures with outdoor shots to follow soon! The results were done with a calibrated IS. This is my first picture/review effort so I apologize in advance for my mistakes and inexperience.

JohnnyMac’s prodigy produced 974 lumens!

Put in an XM-L2 and it might break 1000. :P But great job, that is one nice looking light!

Thanks, guys! That light is a real winner. How do you like the holster, Steve? I hope it's what you had in mind.

The holster is the perfect compliment to the light and exactly what I needed to carry this light while riding my bike.

Now, I just have to locate a proper area to illustrate just how ridiculously bright this light is for its size. The Zebra 600 is a great light with a solid following among enthusiast and your light is noticeably brighter.

Nice light! Love the fins.

Those bullet looking things…. are flashlights, right?

I’m going to have to commission a maclite one of these days. It’s not just the phenomenal output, its the personal touches. 8)

Very nice light

Glad you like it! I tried to design this one to keep it as close to the body as possible and I think it succeeded. It should give you years of wear and service. You da’ man!

man that is an amazing torch… when will maglite pick up on the hints? lol
