Home Depot 2xAAA Penlight find.

Was browsing at my local Home Depot and they had this 2xAAA penlight by Iron Bridge Tools for $2.70. Looks like you can only unscrew the tailcap. Has a single LED and my best guess is about 10 lumens output. Comes in Red, Blue or Black.

Um…ok? What is so great about this light exactly? The idea of BLF is to find cost-effective lights, not just the cheapest stuff one could find.

One could order cheap penlights from Dealextreme that use actual power LEDs for 50-100 lumens.

There’s nothing great about it except that it’s cheap and available locally. I thought the first word in BLF.com was “Budget”… doesn’t say anything about cost-effective or it would have been called BCELF.com  Sure you can find cheap lights on just about any chinese website… (and wait 3 weeks for them) But for a budget 2xAAA light you can throw in your glovebox it serves it’s purpose.

I was just at HD… next time I’ll take a look and see if they have them here in Canada.

Ive been thinking about getting one of these from HD to throw in the glove box or center console.
Great find.

I’ll have to keep an eye out for this next time I’m by there. thx

It sucks. I tried one with a LiOn and a dummy and it fried. It was not bright and produced a blue tint. A Fauxton is brighter and better.

Didn’t see them in the HD near me. Maybe US only.
