Yupp. I have read your articles. Awesome work!!
I have used them for reference a couple of times. I highly recommend them for people.
Actually, I basically took the lumen numbers from your post. Edited them in after making the original post.
Feel free to add the chart into your “Tint, Binning, and CRI Explanation (For the XM-L)” if you like it.
I compared most of the prices with the ones you have added when I made the chart and fasttech seem to have the same/about the same leds at generally better prices than everyone else. I considered to add other stores, but did not bother…
For me, the more visual it gets the better. Hope this makes it easier for some people to buy new LEDs when looking at tint/price/lumens. I might add XM-L2s in the future when more shops have them…
Just wanted to contribute with some information to this great forum!
The common “neutral white” XM-L is 3C. Most seem to prefer those since they have been quite easily available for those who did not want a cooler tint like a 1A. 4C is not common in flashlights. And I don’t believe that a lot of people have tried slightly warmer.
I like a bit warmer tints. Usually warmer means lower bin and less output. But since both are T6 the difference should be minimal.
I think the T6 4C looks like a great led in terms of BIN and tint. But as you see, its a bit more expensive and the perceived output might be 5% lower (which you will not be able to see).
Big difference? Probably not what most would say big. But side by side, there would be some…
