How to make a dummy cell in 9 pics

It is nice and simple. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work, definitely much more refined than what I did.

Nicely done , sir .

I just took an aluminum rod and wrapped it in electrical tape. Worked fine. A copper rod would worknas well.

Nice job, this has given me an idea. Thank you

I think I’ll bang a nut and bolt (with the bolt recessed) through a piece of wood which is too wide. Then take the wood down to size with the lathe before I cut the end of the bolt off.

That way it will all be nicely centered.

Wow looks better than an Ultrafire. I reckon it would have a higher capacity as well. Nice use of the nut and bolt.

Up until now I was really doing a bad job whenever I made a dummy. They key to this is that special nut, which is a furniture nut and can be found in most good hardware stores.

You can buy dummy cells at FastTech but they look too good, too much like a rechargeable cell. Do not make the mistake of sticking a dummy cell in a charger, thinking that it is a rechargeable cell.

EXCELLENT!

Welcome to the forum Jack. Suggest you only show your address in pm’s.

Thank you.

don’t forget your shrink wrap label with the UF,TF 6,000 mah capacity.

Brilliant!

As I have a metal turning lathe I would turn and bore a piece of delrin or nylon plastic rod to the needed cell dimensions and use a copper rod for the center conductor, glued into position. Minimal resistance. With the right accessories on it even a small wood turning lathe could be used to make it.
