Have a few outdoor sensor lights that come on a bit. I like that if someone pulls in my driveway, i know it.
I mistakenly bought some CFL ones and by the time they warm up and produce a respectable amount of light its too late.
You can decide how much flood vs throw, etc. Id probably stick to Halogen though as they are instant brightness, cheap, and their lower life doesnt matter since the light is relatively rarely used.
It would be nice to know exactly how much wattage your fixture can take.
The CFLs arent necessary awful either. CFLs can produce a LOT of lumens for the wattage AND the volume (unlike LEDs).
This means your 75 Watt outdoor fixture could power up one of these bad boyz:
5800 lumens! Sure takes a while to warm up but even intial lumens is really high. Note it won’t be directional light though, so keep that in mind. Also, unless fixture is somewhat protected the bulb will be vulnerable.
Ive got one of those for my garage as a worklight and man does it kick butt. (make sure to get a MEDIUM socket, NOT A MOGUL ONE)
I have seen some LED outdoor “sensor spot lights” that you put over your garage door or on the side of your house at Home Depot and Lowes. Haven’t tried them out yet, but curious if anyone has.
Check out these listings. This seller sells Home Depot store returns for cheap. They have dual LED bulb outdoor motion lights for real cheap. I have a couple hundred LED bulbs from them in my house…
