Hi,

I pre-ordered. This is my first time doing this, so hope it works out (for all of us :))! Titanium and NW.

Am I correct that these also ship from China (I’m in the U.S.)? I have several orders from various places that are in-flight, including Fasttech (“in the mail”), so getting impatient with these :(…

Yup.

Also, looks like they won’t ship until April 5th… so try to be patient!

It starts on Low, like other DQGs. RIc

Thats Rics answer to my above quoted question I asked because in the post before that he said "3 Mode—- High 2A ; Mid 0.5A; Lo 0.1A;"

Also, I guess the dark color we see on fancyflashlights is black. If you look at this pic from the first post:

it seems not as dark. Might be wrong tho, so maybe we should wait for Ric to post some pics with both color versions available.

I guess its moddable.. maybe a 3up Nichia board? Big Smile

Also, I would like to know a little bit more about the driver. Is it simple linear/buck regulator or is there a boost circuit included, like with the DQG AA?

Since it's designed to only run on an 18650 I see no reason why it would have a boost circuit.  I'm sure it's just a simple linear regulator.  There is literally no room for boost circuit as the driver would be too thick.

I’m confused about something. I thought that I saw something about not being able to use protected 18650 batteries?

But, the website description says:

Quote:
LED: CREE XM-L2 T6 CW LED / CREE XML T6 3C NW Material: 6061-T6 Aluminum Reflector: optics lens for T6 Mode: Low>>Mid>Hi;Head twist ON/OFF Digital Current Regulation; Max 2A 500 Lumens Battery Type:1*18650 (Protection or Unprotected battery) (not include) Size: 91mm(Length)*25.5mm(head diameter)*24.5mm(tube diameter) Weight::38g(not include battery) Accessories: 1*stainless steel clip

Does anyone know what the actual situation is (this would be for a Titanium/NW one, in my case).

Thanks,
Jim

LOL! You're right, I haven't.  Still would have no need for a boost circuit in this one though. Wink

Well, if its XML2, a buck/boost circuit would be helpful.. but we will see. Smile

That will probably come down to the particular battery. There is not really standardization for cells. Length can differ from brand to brand or even one mAh to another.

Plus, no one physically has the light in their possession yet so know will really know for sure yet. The risk you take to be a trendsetter. Smile

Hi Haterade,

Understood. This is the first time I’m doing a pre-order like this (before it really exists). Hopefully what is on the website will be accurate.

Thanks,
Jim

I think it’s just bad English on their website. It’s trying to say it supports 18650 protected & unprotected cells, however when you buy the light you won’t get a battery with it.

Remember that titanium is only the colour, not the material. Still a really good price though.

Hi

We can only source back XML2 CW 1C tint for the moment.

XML2 NW has to wait 1-2 months, it’s too long for this project. So we chose XML T6-3C emiiter for DQG 18650 NW. It looks very nice too.

Thanks

It support Size 65mm to 69mm 18650. So most 18650s can fit. 18700 can not fit.

Thanks

Just pulled the trigger on one in the Titanium color with neutral tint. By the time it shows up I’ll have forgotten ordering it and be super surprised.

I got an email from Ric earlier today, confirming my order (black, NW).

Welcome the night.

Hope I get one soon too. Where will they be shipping out of?
Got bit by the flashlight bug a few months ago and it has recently been running rampant, this will be my third light purchase this year.
