Orders from outside EU that are under 45 euros come duty- and VAT-free here. That's around 60$. For that, one can buy a lot of budget lighting stuff.

Not in the UK - the value allowed now is £15 - around US$24. It was dropped from £18 in the last Budget.

The alleged excuse was DVDs coming from the Channel Islands which aren't part of the UK, except when they are. When it comes to VAT they aren't.

The numbers from my light tests are always to be found here.

U don't happen to mean play.com do you? I shoveled money to them big time in my younger years. Once the were the place to get games and other entertainment. Nowadays I prefer Amazon.co.uk.

Looks like Bryan stocks Jetbeam lights now. Including the 2x18650 XML. If that BC40 would be 10$ less I would be all over it. But now it goes over the magical duty-and-VAT-free-import-from-outside-EU-limit, so I'll have to pass fo now.

Other thing to notice is that only the neutral S-mini is back in stock, not the R5.

With my limited searching so far, I've found Shiningbeam to be quite competitive.  I'm tied between them and Goinggear folks for my 1st led purchase.  It's about $1.50 less @ Goinggear after shipping/discounts, yet considering I live in Ontario, Canada I'm guessing shipment would be faster via Bryan [New York] than Goinggear [Georgia].

Besides, Bryan replied to an email I sent within 2 hours, so I appreciate the prompt service.

I've looked at Canadian options, i.e. j2ledflashlights and another one I don't recall, but I wasn't impressed with the prices let alone options available.

Shiningbeam has been my best overall shopping experience.  Fast shipping, great prices for a US seller and excellent customer service.

Their website isn't easy to navigate and selection is limited but I would still enthusiastically recommend them.

I sent an ITP A2 and an A3 back to Shiningbeam that had died for some reason or another and Bryan is sending me two new lights to replace the malfunctioning ones .

I have purchased many lights from Shiningbeam ( A Romisen RC-N3 WW just last week ) and the shipping times and service can not be beat .
