stanley handheld spotlights.

Well been snooping on these bad boys for awhile. Don’t know much yet and haven’t done research as I should but what do you guys think?

Stanley 2M Series Rechargeable Spotlight SL2M09 vs. STANLEY HID0109 35 WATT HID SPOTLIGHT-3000 Lumens

Go for the HID, I don't know anything about the other one but the HID does something like 200kcd.

hid is cheapest at walmart.com

they were out of stock for awhile but they’re back

i believe they are both HID. The grey one has something stated like 2 or 2.5 million candles. The yellow one is $59 or 69.99 and the grey one is $29.97. I have a similar one already. They are both h3 halogen bulbs i think. THinking to buy this to mod with a HID kit.

2m series is not hid.

HID is not H3 bulb.

I think there is some difference between the HID pictured above and the one linked below - aside from just the metal bars on the back. If you search through the stanley hid threads on the dark side, you’ll probably find out - I think the version with metal bars is better in some way, but I’m not sure. Of course, wal mart’s picture is no guarantee that you’ll actually get that version…

I bought that halogen grey one your showing. I ended up taking it back. Don’t waste your money.

The HID would be a lot better thrower and brighter. But if I was going to spend about $80 on that spotlight after tax, you might as well look for a good used Power On Board 35watt HID spotlight that will more than double it it lux and then some for only about $20 more. That would be my advice. The POB I have I would say easily will do over 500,000kcd. And yes you can find them if you look. Heck I have 2. Love both of them.

Here’s a shot at 300yds from my POB 35watt HID.

And here’s one from my POB clone 35watt HID at the same yardage.

Never bought the Stanley HID, but the 2M series is a totally real 1,365 lumens otf and was my brightest light until the SR King. Its battery sucks though. Never even got one charge out of it and the light was expensive. Terrible reviews on Amazon, too. If Stanley HIDs are still around, go for them.

yea the Stanley HID will be a lot lighter than the POB that wight almost 9lbs. But I don’t know how long they will last. Some of the reviews I have read said about 1 yr.

I still have my Stanley HID (the original ones with the hi/lo switch), it still runs 25 minutes on battery, still one of my best throw lights, and to top it off was a great deal at Walmart on clearance for $10.

looks same with the flashlight,Are there any differences between them?

They look like hairdryers for men. xD

Do the handles offer an ergonomic advantage?

I watched a beamshot comparison vid on the tube last night and was impressed with the Stanley light. I remember thinking whoa that thing is seriously bright.

I forgot all about it by the end of the vid until now. I didn’t realise it was a HID… that explains why it kicked arse lol

Get the H.I.D!!! I had one for two years until my son decided that he wanted a strobe light. This is the light that started it all for me. I wish I would’ve got another one instead of a SRK. This thing lights stuff up for 100’s of yards.
