from DX and would like to add a 4th 7135. Is there anywhere you can buy 7135 chips by themselves? The cheapest I could find (on a driver already) would be the KD 2.8a driver with 8 chips for $4.60 which is .57 cents each.
It seems like it would be somewhat difficult to desolder the chips because they are held down on both sides. Anyone have any experience desoldering a 7135?
First of all, go pay a little more and go with Shiningbeam or Illumination Supply. Get your stuff in two days instead of months.
That's just what I do-pull 7135's off a sacrificed driver. I put a glob of solder on all 3 pins... when it flows, the chip will come right off the board using tweezers while heating the solder.
Better be damn good with soldering to add it to your board. I don't know if you're gonna piggyback it on top of another chip, but you've gotta be a microsurgeon.
I get these and scavenge them. You may want to dismantle one of the 5. This would give you an option to get 4 amc 7135 to either add another to the existing boards to make it 1,4A or use elsewhere as you desire. Neat price.
Well I suppose you could do that if you wanted it really fast, but it comes out to 9.75 shipped which is more than twice the cost of the same driver at KD. I received my order in 15 days from KD so its way better than DX shipping thats for sure.
Im going to order 2 more 2.8a drivers from KD, they way I see it is that you can pull 4 of the chips off of one and still have a nice 1.4a regulated driver and come out with 4 7135 chips
