Has anyone got the Convoy L2 from FastTech?

Has anyone bought one yet? It has a 68mm head so you would think it would be a great thrower!! Just wanting to see what everyone thinks about it. Would you get this or the Black SRK from FastTech?

Personally, I’d probably favour the convoy, I’m really taken with the 2*26650 form factor.

Plus, once you’ve got one, you can tell me how good it is and if I should get one….

I have the Dry and a TK75 so that covers the flood. I’m liking the L2 also… I was just hoping to hear if someone else had one…

I’ll order one very soon. Will protected panasonics or KKs fit?

For me this light is very appealing. However, since I already have a few 26650 throwers (HD2010, UltraOK/Aleto, UF T90 beast) I can’t justify $50+ for another one. I’d also like to hear from an owner to see if it fills a gap between 50kcd and 100kcd… you know, just in case…

I’ve had one for a couple of weeks. I’ll try to do a review if I can find the time.

Running from a pair of unprotected King 26650s from Kumabear, it measures 65k lux at 1 meter. Like every Convoy I’ve seen, machining and finish is excellent. It has a lot of mass in the head, so I would think it would do pretty well at thermal management. I haven’t disassembled it yet, I’ll save that for the review.

I’m happy with it. If anyone has any specific questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.

I figured about 65k nice! I can’t justify it but I’d choose it over a STL-V2 if I didn’t have one

Can you get dimensions of the driver area in the pill please? Wondering if a 3.5 - 5 amp driver will fit….

What’s the diameter of the lens and inside diameter of the bezel? Thanks!

That 65k measurement was taken at 1m distance on a tabletop. I’ve been wanting to do a measurement at 10m, but I need the snow to melt on my flashlight test range (i.e. backyard).

Personally I’d go for the SRK, then do the resistor mod for 50% more power.
That’s just my opinion, I just don’t like the long thin type, I think throw has more to do with led depth in the reflector than diameter ?, ie deep reflector and longer throw with less spill, I just love the 3 x T6 config myself of the SRK and the FandyFire UV-S5, I have both of these, there is not really despite what’s advertised any difference in output power, just tint, the SRK is much cooler so shows things much more naturally looking at night.
Don’t forget your “BLF” discount code!!

Someone braver and/or more skilled than I will be needed to tear it down farther than this:

Unless the head is made up of two parts, but I don’t see a seam.

stainless bezel ring: 56mm ID, 67mm OD
glass lens: 61mm diameter, 3.1mm thick
reflector: 61mm OD (active part is approx 56mm diameter), 50mm deep

Me too. I’ve kept a keen eye on the Convoy L2 for a while now. I already have the Skyray STL-V2 and the K40 so I’ve been holding off pulling the trigger on this one. But the sheer quality of the <$15 Convoy S2 kind of got me hankering after the L2
Darn it… I just might get one (3C tint) if it turns out to be a winner.

This light has been of my radar for quiet a long while already. I wonder if this light, with a 68mm bezel, can out-throw my 60mm (about 48mm effective ID) TK41? If it does, at less than $50 net, this light would be a real bargain.

Someone has to pull the trigger and just do it!!!

So far I have been pressing the trigger guard…

5 amp driver, 20mm Sinkpads and a Convoy L2 inbound. Will be awhile before I can get some XM-L2 U2s but until then XML U3s will have to do.

The goal is 200K lux.

Sounds cool, please post pics when you get it done.

It’s about time someone gets one of these bad boys. Let us know how it is stock before you have your fun!
