Pink L3 Illumination L10

I’m thinking of getting one of these but can’t find any other pictures of the pink online to help me make up my mind, only this group photo and the CG image.

fyi, I have the orange, and the color looks the same in the photo (which is darker than the pic the seller used)

I have a white one. If you get a white one and swap the head from the pink one, you’ll have a lipstick.

Nice surprise about this shorter form. Can you tell us what it is you are talking/writing about?
Has any info. about this shorter form been posted before (and i just missed it)?

Hi Sunniva! Welcome to BLF!

The light is L3 Illumination L10, available from here:

If you like this form factor, you may also be interested in Thrunite T10, and DQG AA.

I have the white, blue, and natural and they all look just like the photo above. I’d say given that dthrckt’s light matches the photo well as do mine, the pink one would look like the picture as well. Good luck and it’s a great light although I would not recommend the white one due to it’s cheap feeling ano.

I have a white and I’m pretty sure its not even ano. Seems to be paint. Kind of a bummer. But I love the color.

Yes, the white L10 is not anodized. How is the finish on yours, Haterade?

My white L10 finish is smooth, even, and does not have any obvious flaws. More glossy and slick… You know how ano sometimes has a very slight texture to it? This white L10 isn’t like that. It’s smooth and shinny, like painted metal.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Jack the clipper reported some chips in the bezel area on his. Mine has held up OK, so far. Only had it a couple months. But I have been carrying it very often.

Wish it was anodized, but really just wanted white. Seem like paint. Would’ve thought powder coat would be the next best thing after ano… but maybe it was cost prohibitive? I have a set of white powdercoated wheels on one of my cars and they have held up awesome.

After drooling over Chicago-X’s stormtrooper light thread for hours on end I really think some white bake-on coating [of one brand or another] is in my future at some point. Never used it, but I hear it’s easy if you get the right stuff and take your time.

I have the pink and red L10s, and the pink one does look just like the photo in the OP. The red one looks slightly darker than the photo.

Note that the pink was, as far as I’m aware, last produced in 2012… so you’ll get a fairly old model with a cool white XP-G2.

I have an orange XP-G2 and a natural color 219 and they are just fantastic lights, even almost two years later. Good build quality, well spaced modes and a nice, efficient driver—what’s not to like? I still keep the orange one in my 72 hour emergency bag. The 219 version was my EDC for a long time until other lights like the SF5 NW and T10T NW came along and distracted me with new and shiny.

Eighteen months later

I have the Tank007 E09 in rose pink and also in black, but carry neither because when I do need a flashlight I need more output and run time. If I need less light momentarily, I just use my phone screen, or the TrueUtility Nano (if I can be bothered to fish in my bag for my keys; I’d feel embarrassed to rummage for a flashlight — ridiculous I know >.<).

Lately I am thinking to downsize from 18650 to something smaller but not as small as 14500 (maybe I should give the Olight ST-25 more pocket time). Somehow the once perfect Convoy S5 feels too much even in the pocket of my snug winter wool coat. In a mitten-gloved hand it is a different matter, and is a confident size, but both Pioneer C22 and Convoy S5 lack a side switch, so somehow feel too “tactical” to operate.

One old favourite I keep coming back to is the FourSevens Mini AA2. It’s an easy one-hand twisty, has sufficient output for most general purposes, and is extremely small and lightweight especially with lithium primaries in it. I’ll often just tuck one in a shirt pocket if I need more run time than a Preon2 provides.

The Mini AA is even smaller, but has less output - I’m certain it’s a rebranded twin of the Olight i2 EOS. Any of the above are very unobtrusive and easy to carry.

For a small 18650 with a side switch, an Olight S20 is an option. I carry mine with the tail cap locked out, but they do have an easily accessed electronic switch lockout as well. 500 lumens of (well, sort of greenish) floody goodness.

Oops, I didn’t notice the date. I saw this thread on the BLF recent posts list, but now I wonder why since there weren’t any recent posts in the thread. Weird.

The CNQG brass beauty is the smallest 18650 light around, significantly smaller than a Convoy S series. It’s as small as some 1xAA lights, but with more output and runtime. It might be an option. It’s also easily reflashable and relatively easy to get the emitter star out if you want to reflow something else onto it.

The Olight S20 might be good too, since it’s pretty small and has a side switch and decent UI.

Or the Roche F6, though you’ll likely want to mod it instead of using it stock. I really really like mine, but it has Comfychair’s custom driver, a triple 219B, a window for battery indicator lights, and my own custom firmware. It’s too bad they don’t make them like this, since it’s extremely nice this way.

The ZL SC62w or SC62d might be a good option. A bit pricey, but it’s one of the smallest 1x18650s and has a side switch and is generally very nice with awesome runtime.

I haven’t been carrying my L3 L10-219 lately. It’s very nice, but I’ve got so many custom lights to choose from that the L10 just never quite makes it into the rotation lately. However, I have some 1xAA brass lights on the way which I think are reflashable and are about the same size as the L3 L10, and I have some 219Bs to reflow into them… I hope my guesses about it are right.

It was probably a spammer (since deleted). But it was nice to reflect on things (Would I buy a pink L10 now, even if it had Nichia 219?). Thanks for the suggestions BTW. A smaller 18650 might be okay, depending on the beam.
