Energizer rebranded eneloops? Finally?

Ok, so I know about the rebranded Duracells, and I’ve read plenty of comments about how most of the energizer LSD Nimh cells aren’t as great. Well I was in the store today and an energizer pack caught my attention. It was one I hadn’t seen before. They were called energizer “recharge universal.” They claimed the similar specs as 1500 cycles- like the eneloops. I looked closer and they were definitely Japanese made, and they had a white ring around the top. Anyway, check out this link.

These have to be 2nd gen eneloops right? I don’t think these are everywhere- but keep your eyes peeled. They were on the same peg hook as the regular nimh energizers too. Also sorry, if there’s a thread about this. I googled and found very very scant info on these newer models.

Where did you see them? What store? What's the mAh rating on them? I've had good luck with the newer 2300mAh Energizers.

The reviews are saying only 1.4Ah capacity, although that could be for an older version. I’ve seen some made-in-Japan Energizer NiMH before but I passed on them. These could be different, so I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Some discussion about it earlier at the link below (with pictures). 1400mAh (actual capacity 1480mAh), made in Japan, but Eneloops have higher capacity than that.

I’m pretty sure it was Walgreens. I was hunting a 8-pack of duraloops so I went to several stores yesterday. I did not look for the mah rating. But I will find them and get the appropriate information. The thing which struck me about them was the packaging. They are making claims like they were lifted from an eneloop package. I hadn’t seen them on an energizer package before.

I think I've seen these at Target. I thought it rediculous that the 2300mAh versions (tested true capacity) were only like $1 or $2 more per 4pack. I wonder how many people fall for the 1400mA versions and don't see the benefit of spending a little more.

Ok, I found these again. The particular packaging I linked above is pretty hard to find. They are definitely 1400 mah. The store I saw them in was Best Buy. Oh well, false alarm.
