Commercial sellers - a good read about how to post on BLF your deals

Dear commercial sellers,

commercial offers are often well recieved in this forum if you follow this few simple guidelines (not rules):

- Post here: http://budgetlightforum.com/forum/marketplace/commercial

- It is very nice that you introduce yourself and the company. Those who did were welcomed warmly.

- We value good presentation and if you expose the key benefits for your offers thats greatly appreciated

- We are interested how you deal with after sales support if need arise

- We enjoy and like any promotions for members of BLF. That's a good way for new costumers to try your services.

- It is strongly unadvised to post 10 topics a day with random offers. Keeping it clean in one topic is often the nicest way.

For any serious/important questions it is wise to contact our admin by PM. The name is sb56637.

A warm welcome to all commerical sellers that behaves respectfully and do not use BLF as a spamming board.

Kind regards,

Budgeteer (ordinary member)

Well said, maybe this should be stickied on top of every page in red letters so commercial sellers can see it. Thanks!

Thanks Budgeteer, very well said. I made this post sticky at the top of this category. I'm thinking about putting a link in the side menu for commercial sellers, but then again I would kind of like to test their effort to see if they bother to look through the forums to find this.

I share your same point of view. :)

If they actually take the time to notice this they can be considered not just spam board searchers. This can act as a nice filter! If they don't read this and act ridicolously lets spam/click them away instantly.

This idea is quite old and was discussed before.

Today one seller guybuy.com or something similarly cheesy did the perfect example how to get banned in 20min and awarded himself the title of the least time lasting spammer on BLF in history im aware of.

That made me write this guideline. I was rereading the entire post about 10 times before "publishing" it since it is not my "right" to make such anouncements but felt it was needed anyway and we discussed it before so i kinda knew where the line i should not cross is. I hope you don't mind if i acted a tiny bit authoritative. The click on the "publish" button was reading: Someone gotta do this: Yes/No/Foy

I choose Yes.

And don't forget the following

1) Provision of as much detailed Technical information as possible, such as ACCURATE specifications, test data, accurate descriptions of the functions.

2) Ensure there is sufficient DETAILED images of the product, most importantly of the working parts, electronics, LEDs, etc..

Do the first 2 well and you will have far more success. A significant number of sales for flashlight parts are lost due to insufficient information, bad descriptions, insufficient photographs of key components.

Great job 'ordinary member' Budgeteer!

If a dealer doesn't comunicate , He's telling you he doesn't want to sell to you . even bad english(german/spanish) is better than no response.(sorry I speak English}

Okwchin is right If someone buys something because it is described as an xpg-r5 and it arrives as an xre-Q5. If you buy a Toyota and the dealer delivers a Fiat .. .People will be upset ..Say what you mean ,and mean what you say ..Honesty is rewarded .Liars punished.

+1. And to quote Warren Buffett... again. "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently."

Making a quick buck isn't going to do any good if you alienate potential customers and lose future sales. But going out of your way to make a customer happy may very well pay off. I know I have often bought stuff based on nothing but the recommendation of a trusted forum member. Treat your customers right and everybody wins.

Honesty is rewarded .Liars punished,

I Very much agree the veiw of Boaz

Thanks Budgeteer,it is well said

I would add that the best way of promoting a company is for you to personally be helpful in this forum rather than just constantly promoting your company.
If you don’t understand flashlights sometimes it’s better to say nothing rather than to promote something you don’t understand. It doesn’t help your cause.
I’ll reiterate what others have said. The best thing most of you can do is to improve the technical accuracy of your websites.
People buy a product based on the accuracy of your specifications. If those specifications are correct then in most cases they aren’t going to be happy with what they bought.

Important (to me anyway) is price to performance.

First thing that grabs me on most all products is price. Once I'm reeled-in by that, research is done to determine the junk-or-jewel status.

It doesn't have to be gold plated, but it does have to exceed in the bang-for-buck department.

really appreciate your advice ,we must know more about products rather than just put some coupons

thanks so much
