XML-2 tints

I ordered:

Am I right to assume that the tint I will be getting is a lottery amongst the e4 (4A, 4B, 4C and 4D) and e5 (5A1-4, 5B1-4, 5C1-4, 5D1-4) chromaticities for the 4500k and 4000k respectively?

IMO, yes!

Really? I looked into getting XM-L2's from Arrow, and when I asked, they told me what the exact tint is... Didn't try Mouser or DigiKey though... Do you think they are just randomly mixed or batched as 1 tint?

Based on that they specify kelvin, and chromatic group, but not exact tint. I would assume so…

I suspect several of the Chinese vendors out there just make up a tint within a group just to make things easier. They just specify one exact TINT even though they get emitters that belong to a group. Some vendors I dont even trust on bin (like Kaidomain). Just my thoughts, don’t take my word on it.
I tend to trust intl-outdoor more than most other Chinese vendors.

I think it is because Mouser orders the kit which comes with all the tints but they don’t bother to sort and sell individually.
