My lovely wife claims she was woken up last night by her nightstand light - a Thrunite Ti. Allegedly she was sleeping and it turned on all by itself, thus waking her up. Weird!
I tried searching for this, but maybe my terms weren’t right? Anyone here have any experience with this with a Ti or other (twisty) light?
Her Ti has been completely reliable otherwise. Up until this, there was none of the stuff I read about with Ti’s not picking the right mode, etc. My Peak QTC Eiger will sometimes sloooooowly ramp itself brighter without touching it, but I have never had any of my lights come on by themself!
Whatcha think fellas? Is the lady losing her mind?
What Chloe said. The light was probably just on the verge of contact in the first place and thermal contraction took care of the rest.
Either that or it was a ghost. :p A technique used by haunting investigators is to position a twisty light (usually a minimag) on a table at just the right twist so that it is off. They ask spirit questions and it is able to turn the light on and off at will in response to questions. Many swear it works. Who knows. Not sure you should tell her a spirit is contacting her through her light though. She may make you get rid of all your lights. LOL!
ah damn…… for a second there I thought there was something about green being 25 microns thicker plating due to higher content of some mineral… er sumthin like that
Some of the twisty lights need to be turned far enough that with a little pressure the head cannot be tipped over and ground so that the light comes on.
If the light was bumped and rolled, it could come on if it wasn’t turned off by very much.
Had one of these, it turned itself on constantly. Even with an eneloop every time I went to use it, it was flat. Ended up giving it away. The brynite from DX I use is brighter and doesn’t turn itself on all the time. A little bigger and not as nice of course
