How does "Recent Posts" feature work?

Hi,

When I’m on BLF, I usually just go to the “Recent Posts” link to see newer messages. However, I notice that sometimes (often?), I won’t see a thread there, then, all of a sudden later, a thread appears with a lot of new messages, when I would have expected the thread to already have appeared in “Recent Posts” earlier.

So, I’m wondering how that works? Does it only move a thread to that view when there’s a threshhold of new postings, or something like that?

Thanks,
Jim

Do you stay logged in? Maybe that affects it. Also there are several pages of recent posts.

Yes, I think I’m logged in usually. Usually, I’m on the 1st page of the “Recent Posts” page/URL, then I click the link. I guess I could understand if some new messages with, say 1+ message appeared, but sometimes I see like 17+ messages, and that’d be within a minute or so of the last time I clicked the link?

Hmm. I just noticed that there’s a “Mark All Read” button at the top of the “Recent Posts” page… maybe I should use that once in awhile…

Jim

If a thread has 1000 posts but the last post is one year old it doesn’ appear in the first sites of recent posts….
if now someone makes the 1001 post it appears because there is a update…

i hope this helps

USE THAT WITH CAUTION! One wrong click and BAM you now have no idea which posts you've read and which you haven't! Just ask apt323 about this! :)
