Budget lights similar to MG X-Thrower

The MG X-Thrower at shiningbeam.com has been tempting me lately, but at $65 is not exactly a budget light. So has the Fenix Tk35.

Are there similar 18650 lights that have the real brightness and form factor similar to these two that you have been happy with for less money?

This is the light I'm talking about

http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-125/MG-X-dsh-Thrower-SST-dsh-50-P...

SST-50 aint a budget emitter. The price for such emiter flashlight is not really bad actually.

There are no copies of TK35 yet. Be sure one of us would know! :)

Any particular reason for the SST-50? I'ts becoming a bit obsolete with XM-L's nowadays and way more budget friendly.

Doesn't have to be the SST if it still have high lumens and good throw.

I'm looking for the one light in my collection that when I use it, people say "Holy $hoT, what the heck is that thing?" and stand back for fear of being incinerated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated... The very-soon-to-be-released TK41 might be perfect, but it is $129...out of my budget.

For incinerating things... ask Match to sell you his 6x XM-L fireball on a stick.

Well the KD C8 XM-L might be worth considering or that's not bright enough?

A one cell 18650 XML flashlight at full-power will drain the battery in a very short time. That's why i ordered the Trustfire X8 yesterday http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfire-x8-xm-lt60-5-mode-1000-lumen-memory-white-led-flashlight-with-batteries-set-2x18650-57749 .

It should be bright enough for me, but it is longer than a flashlight with only one 18650.

Hobbyphoto, that is a pretty nice light, and includes batteries and charger~

let me know when you get it what you think of the output. If it is realistically even close to 700 lumens and throws a tight hotspot, I might consider that over the MG or the Tk35 or 41

Just what people said when I used the Ultrafire P60 XM-L drop-in during a trip to the alps last weekend... (It's not a thrower of course).

I have got mine yesterday. It's indeed a very nice light. It draws 1550mA at the tailcap (from 2 batteries) and it throws very well. I have seen a comparison of the X-8 and the TK35. The X-8 throws better.

$39.99 now at Shiningbeam

Show me a nice beamshot from this light.

I have great expectations from this one:

55mm head on an XR-E has to be good.

Backordered.

I think I'm gonna have to buy that one.

Forgot to mention that I also have this driver

http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S020075

coming for the A60, as it seems to be driven a bit conservatively... if they ever deliver it (ordered 16 Jan., no other vendor listing them).

Um guys? That post is 8 months old. Please don't necro threads without a good reason.

Reason enough for me.

I was just about set on this light, before Dr. Jones posted his Klone35 mod

Good price on an SST-50 light... as cheap as any XML design shipped from North America.

It's actually cheaper than the XM-L version of the MG-1 I purchased from CNQG.

*heads over to ShiningBeam*

yeah, I was going to pull that sst-50 out and stick in on a piece of copper inside my next tractor supply zoomie and see what happens. then stick an xml in the mg-x. spent too much elsewhere, and probably do as well w/ the xml in the zoomie anyway...
