The 'Mini Cree R3' from Fasttech upon arrival: a post-QC pictorial QC ;-)

OMG, make sure they know about this. They will pull it from their site and get a new supplier. Hard to have more things wrong with it than that.

Well, it did not light up.... (minus from driver has no good contact with pill)

No surprise it didn’t work. I think a soak in the ocean would do some of that. The rest is just plain poor workmanship.

i can see why with the driver the shape its in. At least the body itself seems fair. It’s got that going for it.

Oh, I also think it is a alright light, I just have to fix everything

’kinell !!!

Is that a bur on the top off the housing in the shot to the left off the led? It looks as shoddy as some off the things I’ve made. Not good at all.

had to look up 'bur' , but: yes it is, I almost even cut myself at it. I just pulled it off with tweezers, it produced a 1.5 cm long nasty curl.

I'm going to use it as a host somehow and I am sure it will be fine light .

oops. wrong thlead

Hi,

What was the FastTech SKU for that light? I think that I have one of them.

I hope yours came in better condition (and better output: even on 10440 it is not more than the Thrunite Ti)

I don't know, looks good to me - no messy stuff under the star - it shows off that nice circular pattern on the pill top, and the custom u-ring is unique! The bubble button is pretty cool...

Hi,

It’s a kind of funny story actually…

Awhile ago, I got a AAA light that externally looks exactly like the one you got, but I got it from Tmart.com, but has 4 or 5 modes:

http://www.tmart.com/TrustFire-XP-E-3W-160-Lumens-F23-CREE-Q3-3-Mode-LED-Flashlight_p100646.html

After I got that, I saw the one you got above on FastTech, but the FastTech description said “1 mode”, so I was curious if that was really 1-mode, so I bought that one (the one you have) also. That turned out to be really 1 mode, but that’s how I ended up with both of them.

And, no, the one I got was fine, in good shape, nothing like the one that you got :(…

Jim

It almost looks like a return ?

looks like someone tried to torture it ..driver looks soldered on and the tails been opened ..the tail clickies are a weakness of this light..and contact issues with the drivers..Nice feeling host but a better buy at 10$almost anywhere else . I think heavy AAA lights should be avoided anyway .I kind of like the light but wouldn't ever recommend it or gift it .Too unreliable .

let us know how FT handles the situation.

I have this flashlight and I transformed it to a hand warmer pocket rocket (hwpr).
Made it dd and used a XPG & 10440 cell.
Wow.

In this case, this is really bad.
They will find you a solution though.

Paypal claim

Impressive QC!

I’m sure FastTech will offer a refund or replacement if you open a support ticket. I wouldn’t make a Paypal claim just yet.
