Solarforce L2M + L2T head + delrin tail shroud = kicka$$ness

Just wanted to share a couple shoddy pics of my new setup.
Pictured with Kershaw Skyline and Old Lumens XLZ Skinner.

L2T I have is the flat dark grey color, so I swapped the tail cap and installed the glossier black bezel from my L2M. Now pieces alternate: black/grey/black/grey/black.

The tail shroud is super handy. A little pricey, but worth it. Surprised I don’t see more of them around.

Where is the shroud sold?

I was interested in this question too, and since I’m too impatient to wait for Haterade, I looked around and found this. Obviously, I can’t be sure if this is the one he used, but…

At $24, I don’t see the value since you can by a SF tail standing tail cap for about 1/4 of that directly from SF (or less than 1/2 if you really want the pocket clip too).

Sure does look cool though. Maybe even tacticool. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh no! You said tacticool!! Its on now! LMAO

It does help with an improvised cigar style grip…

This is the shroud here -

Yeah, I have the tail stand cap from SF too, but mine was unstable due to button protruding. Pissed me off - since they advertise it as tailstanding!

Futzed with the SF “tailstand” one a bit, but no luck. Its been swapped to the L2T - see last pic. (My L2T original switch has better feel… weird… another reason for swapping it with the mini tail.)

The OR delrin shroud has bigger footprint and stands rock solid. Also makes it so both ends of the light sit level if you lay it on its side.

Someone should make a cheaper version. Even the one without the clip is overpriced. Should be no more than $5.

Sooo close! Googlefu not so strong, lol. So I guess it’s $10 just to add the clip? Wow! We are all in the wrong business.

Anyway, It does add to the aesthetic of the light, no doubt, and I’m sure it works well, but that still seems expensive to me. With luck, our friends in China will make a clone/copy and we can all get one.

How exactily does it go on the tail cap? Press fit?

Nice, I have the exact set up. I wanted anti roll for my l2t and a smaller package on the l2m.

I always thought an L2T head on an L2M body in short mode would make the hottest Solarforce light and I was right. Nice!

That looks really good Haterade. it changes the look of the light totally. It would also make holding the light through the fingers like a cigar grip easy as well.

Im very fond of the L2T head on the L2 body ...

Just wish Solarforcelights-sales would sell the combo ( would be cheaper )

Thanks all. I really dig it too. Very handy to grip and stand.

Added bonus - works out nicely for the L2T with the antiroll head too. Win, win.

I believe SF-sales does sell the L2T head seperately (I wanted the whole host tho), but yeah, a combo deal would be ideal. Listening solarforce???

And totally agree cone… We are in the wrong biz mate. The markup on the shroud must be 1000% or so!! Dayum!!
:open_mouth:

Shroud is press fit. Took some effort too… Not going anywhere now!

Clean elegant and functional ...

Sweet! That tail shroud is something else. I always let my FL stand on its head.

The shroud really sets off the light. That gives me an idea.

The use of an L2T head on an L2M/L2/L2P is collectively hereby, Foyapproved®

Oh yeah?

This could get interesting.

…

and well played Foy

OK, Cx, it’s been almost a whole day and we know you have a lathe, so… where’s the prototype? And more importantly, can you make some for sale that are more reasonably priced? I’ll take four.

Pressures on.

He’ll probably have some lame excuse like, ” I had to go to work today” or something.

Hehe...I just got back home a little while ago. I'll have some time tomorrow to work on this, as it's not a good idea for me to play with machinery when tired.

Last time earned me a mangled digit.
